My partner and I stayed in this outstanding privately run hotel for 6 nights in August 2017. We wished we could have stayed for 60 nights!
The lovely breakfast always set us up for the day and the staff (including the owner) couldn't do enough...More
My adult daughter and I recently spent four nights at the lovely Ca' San Giorgio and couldn't have been happier. We were in the "Pantelone Suite" which is at the top of the stairs directly across from the breakfast room. It has a small private...More
A superb location, almost adjacent to the Grand Canal, only 10 minutes from the rail station but in a quiet narrow street that made you feel like a real Venetian. We kept taking photos of us opening the front door of the B&B ! We...More
I stayed at Ca' San Giorgio with my wife and infant son. The location is tucked away from the heavy traffic areas of Venice. The staff is friendly and helpful. We asked for a crib, and it was all set up when we arrived. The...More

Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture
universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.

Yes there is a really neat laundromat nearby right next to a bar/cafe so you can have a drink while you wait for your laundry. You can ask them to point it out to you on a map. The logo is Orange, but I forget the name. It is very clean. They have soap there and the dryers take a little while. Have fun!
