Ca’Nigra Lagoon Resort was absolutely magical! My daughter and I arrived in Venise without a reservation. We walked into the beautiful hotel and Manuela greeted us with an amazing smile. Her warmth was so sincere, and she arranged a beautiful room for us. We were...More
The Ca’Nigra Lagoon Resort is amazing! Located walking distance from the train station and on the corner of the Grande Canal and the Rio Marin Canal, it is a gem! It has a rose garden alongside the Grande Canal where you can eat breakfast or...More
Apart from being a very nice hotel, the added attraction is its 'boat-garage'. You take a boat-taxi from the airport and the next time you touch the handles of your luggage is in your hatel.

Just wondered into the hotel after noticing the quaint facade. We met Narciso at front desk who was wonderfully friendly and professional and gave us a brief overview of the hotel. He showed us a few rooms and we immediately booked one night. We loved...More
The resort it’s fine but we don’t feel it’s a 4 start resort by the following reasons:

Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture
universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.

We arrived by train . The rail station is about 100yards / metres from the hotel but on the other side of the canal. We couidnt get a water taxi to take us such a short distance so we had to get a porter to take our bags to the hotel and we followed on foot. If you are arriving by a small boat, water taxi etc there is a small covered entrance at the side of the hotel where a boat can enter and drop you off with your bags and you enter the hotel through a glass door from the " boat port ". I am sure that when you are leaving the hotel staff will arrange a water taxi etc for you. Hope you have a wonderful stay , we did , you have made a good choice.
