As most people say, yes beware of the stairs with luggage, but it's certainly can be done. Very good breakfast, and comfortable room. Enjoy getting lost in Venice with all its twists and narrow alleys. It's easy to find your way back to the hotel. Side note: People do allow dogs to poop in public areas without having to pick...

Very atmospheric boutique hotel ... beautiful decor ... clean ... very good location ... very good breakfast ... only one critical note ... if you are going to the asian neighbors in the next room it is a tragedy. The dream comes at 3 am..minute away the hotel restaurant is great ... I recommend to anyone

We've enjoyed our stay at ca'riccio very much! The rooms were nicer than on the pictures, the staff was very friendly with great hospitality and the room was very clean! The place is situated just outside the busy center which makes it a nice and quiet area. If you look like to walk around and explore the old city this...

Easily reached from Fondamente Nuovo boat terminal, direct from airport. Ca Riccio is nicely situated in a quiet area within easy access to all main parts of Venice. Friendly staff and it has a homely feel due to its style and position. We had the room with a small balcony (Number 4) that allowed us to look out at the...

We arrived at about 7:30pm at the entrance to the b&b from the water bus from the airport. Ca Riccio had provided extensive details on how to find it which was great. Unfortunately when we arrived there was no answer. We waited for about 20 minutes ringing the doorbell still no answer. We went to a restaurant nearby and borrowed...

Ca Riccio is a bit off of the tourist track in Venice. If coming from the airport, it is just a few minute's walk from the stop at Fondamente Nove. It is a somewhat longer journey to the train station. Upon arrival by whatever means, there is a climb of a few flights of stairs to the room. We were...

Warm welcome and very clear directions to this old Venetian B and B which occupied the top stories of a tall building. We soon got used to climbing the stairs and it was worth it for the very good location within walking distance of the main tourist areas. The buffet breakfast was adequate, as was the accommodation. Would certainly visit...

Spent 4 days in Venice. After confirming my reservation ca riccio sent very comprehensive directions as we were coming from Treviso not Marco Polo airport including Google streetview details. Tucked away in the heart of Venice it couldn't be easier to get around and explore the many little alleys and shops. We found the small doorway gained entrance and climbed...

We stayed for four nights at Ca' Riccio in Venice in late September. We chose this BnB due to its excellent Tripadvisor ratings. They sent us detailed directions which were most helpful since, as most people know, Venice is a maze which can be particularly unpleasant after a long flight. After a red eye flight, we arrived at 10:00am and...

Ca'Riccio exceeded my expectations. I went off the recommendation of another hotel I'd booked at. Had the loveliest time and was sad I couldn't stay longer. Was in a great room with an ensuite (with a bath), and had a TV and fridge which was nice after my flight. It had a lovely view of the neighbourhood. The location was...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
