When we arrived about 20 minutes before check in (12:00) we were told that our room is empty but not quite clean yet, so we could keep our bags in the room and come back later. The housekeeper was extremely friendly and told us that if we waited about 10-15 minutes she would have everything clean for us! Unfortunately the...

Pricey for what it is, but hey, that's Venice for you! -On top of the price count a 10% service fee + 3€ city tax per night and person-. The WiFi works fine, and the rooms are clean, but there are some significant problems. The staff DOES NOT understand English. They say they do, they probably think they do, but...

I had read reviews before saying you had to pay for breakfast ever though it should have been included as it was a bed and breakfast, but when we got there the man was abit blunt but showed...

We chose this hotel for our two nights in Venice as it was so close to Piazzale Roma, where we arrived after an easy journey by AVTO bus from the airport, and to the cruise terminal for our departure. It fulfilled that need perfectly. We only had one full day on the island and purchased a 24 hour vaporetto ticket...

We didn't know what to expect being that we've never been to a b&b before but we assumed that it would be something completely different.. Upon Arrival: We had a bit of a hard time finding it but we found our way and it was about two mins from where the buses and taxis leave you, Piazzale Roma . Next...

The place doesn't even deserve for one star... no breakfast, nor shampoo, shower gel, extremely expensive for that quality. Staff extremely unfriendly. They charged my credit card right after I booked a room (two months before arrival?!!!!!) And 14% additional cost after check-in, so called 'service '. Worse place I'be ever stay in!!!!!

We booked this place due to its location close to the train station as we did not want to walk for long around Venice with our luggage. We were very happy with our room which we were surprised to find had Kitchen facilities. Although this is a B&B you have to pay extra if you actually want breakfast but as...

it was a huge disappointment. The room was very poor. It is not a place where you would like to stay even for a night. The only positive thing is a location - close to a railway and bus station. What is important - it is B&B, but without breakfast.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
