Just back from an extended weekend and highly recommend this boutique hotel. There are only 7 apartments here but all are well appointed, ours was a one bedrooms apartment with spacious living room with open plan modern kitchen, apart from the usual appliances it also had a dishwasher & washing machine. The staff are very friendly, the room was very...

We did enjoy staying here. The flats are modern and well-equipped. The staff is very helpful and polite with perfect English. The breakfast is rich. The only thing that was disappointing was the Internet which barely worked. Once we had no wifi for the whole evening.

This is the 2nd time I've visited Venice... last time I stayed on the Lido and was a little concerned initially that I'd chosen such a central location for my stay. I shouldn't have worried as i can't praise Residence Ca' Foscola more. The location was perfect - 10 minutes from both the Rialto Bridge and from St Marks square...

We stayed here as a family this week. The accommodation is excellent! The three of us stayed in a huge self catered residence with a view of the square. The bedroom is huge with loads of cupboard space. The main lounge is equally huge with a double sofa bed. Nice Nespresso machine, which gets filled daily with refill capsules. The...

We enjoyed a lovely stay in a two bedroom, two bathroom, self contained apartment with a canal view. The apartment was huge, in an excellent location and equipped with everything we needed. Just a note on canal access, we took a water taxi from the train station but the driver told us he couldn't take us directly to the apartment...

Just got back had brilliant time. The apartment was excellent everything you needed was there. Staff were so helpful and friendly situated so close to the main attractions. Spotlessly clean. Can't praise it enough. Would go back and would recommend others to go they wouldn't be disappointed.

While most apartments extend an initial warm welcome, this was not the case at this establishment. Instead we received a long lecture concerning things which were not allowed and actions for which we would be fined - for example, failure to stack all crockery into the dishwasher prior to departure would incur a 30 euro penalty. Once the lecture concluded...

We stayed as a family for 2 nights in December. The location is great - 3 min walk from Rialto water bus station, and next to many restaurants and supermarkets. The apartment itself is thoughtfully renovated with all modern amenities, and consumables that are replenished daily for a sumptous breakfast. Rooms on the ground floor offer amazing canal views with...

This is a wonderful aparthotel tucked a few turns behind the Rialto Bridge, a 3 minute walk to the Grand Canal and the vaporetto water buses. The outside is rather unassuming, and you could miss it if you're not paying attention! Inside the hotel is a lovely apartment (maybe 8 or 9 total), that is generously sized. We had a...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

Prestigious dwelling of the noble Foscolo family, one of the most ancient Venetian dynasties and founders of the Most Serene Republic, this newly restored residence opens its doors to guests in its new role of upscale apartment-hotel. Ca' Foscolo is composed of spacious suites whose design and modern comfort meld with the gothic architecture of the courtyard whose the original well-head is decorated with bas-reliefs, and with the water entrance for guests who arrive by boat. At the ground floor of the palace, you will be welcomed in an elegant reception leading to the different apartments, which are located on two floors, each with a slightly different layout and named for a ship from the fleet of the Venetian Republic. The residence offers high quality service, and our staff, attentive and professional, will be at your disposal for useful information and suggestions for your stay in Venice. Strategically located in the heart of the city and easily reached by public and private transport, Ca' Foscolo overlooks a quiet Venetian square, a few steps from the Rialto Bridge and a few minutes from St. Mark's Square, ... more   less
