Ours was a last minute side trip to Venice. Our stay was exceptional. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. They answered all of our questions and provided guidance to make the most of our short stay. Would definitely stay again!

From the moment the water taxi sped away from the airport and travelled along the Grand Canal to the door of the Barbarigo I was in a magical place. The staff were so welcoming. Our room was beautiful with windows looking straight onto the canal, so we could watch Venice life pass our window. Breakfast was delicious and attentively served....

My husband and I visited Venice for the first time and we will be back. This hotel went far above our expectations. Daniel and his staff made our stay so wonderful I can easily say this was our best trip to Italy ever. We did take the private water taxi from the airport to the hotel and I highly recommend...

Stunning. From the moment we arrived by private water taxi to the view from our room to the intimate breakfast to the bar's gorgeous balcony. The staff were effortlessly efficient and friendly. Amazing hotel overlooking the Grand Canal. The perfect place to stay, we had a Junior Suite Grand Canal View. Comfortable, luxurious and elegant. Fab breakfast of fruits, pastries, fresh rolls, meats cheeses or anything you wanted. Beautiful bar area with balcony overlooking the water. Just the nicest place we could have stayed very near the Rialto Bridge. Daniel and his team...

The choice of hotels in Venice is dizzying and it's easy to put a foot wrong as I did the last time I stayed in 2014, even though the hotel was (more) highly rated on TripAdvisor. Not so this time. With its discreet, understated opulence, this bijou property is an antidote to all the OTT gold brocade and Murano glass...

Really love this stylish hotel, with charming and very helpful staff. Will be back! Next time, hopefully better weather. Impossible to find from street directions, so critical to arrive first time by water.

We had a lovely stay at your hotel - great location, great service, spectacular breakfast. But the anecdote I wanted to share is about how you went above and beyond for me. On our last day, we had packed up and were ready to go, and had left our baggage with the front desk while we went to Murano for...

Spent only 1 night in this wonderful hotel. We were upgraded to 2 larger rooms with canal views that were stunning. Rooms are beautifully decorated with ultra comfortable beds. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
