Bed was uncomfortable and the shower was so small that the hydromassage was barely used. So getting a platinum room is a waste of money. Moreover the bathroom got flooded all the time we took a shower.
However Venice was very nice
We stayed here between 19th-23rd November 2010.
I agree with the recent review about the dodgy decor! OMG! It's mind boggling that anyone would think this was nice! It didn't spoil the trip though because the hotel was clean, comfy and the staff were friendly...More
This hotel is very, very camp and elaborate in it's decor, so be prepared to have a sense of humour! Our room had a huge gold head board and gold borders around the lamos and an enormous white, blue and pink chandalier that was too...More
I did get a room in a building a little bit away from the actual hotel and its reception. The room was great, very large, nice bathroom and clean. It also had a little balcony aboove the canal with gondolas passing by. Very good location...More
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
