We stayed for a second time at this lovely hotel, which is in a great location nice and quiet but easy to get to all the main sight. Just 2 bridges to cross to get from Fonte Nova Water taxi stop. The rooms are lovely and the staff could not be more helpful. There is a free buffet in the... More

I visited Venice as a part of my honeymoon tour. This hotel is located in Cannaregio district in Venice. The directions to reach hotel are given perfectly on their website. I came here by flight so I took Ali laguna water boat 'Vaporetto' and got down at Fondamente Nove. It's around 300 meters walk from there. The interior of the... More

As a regular traveller to Venice it is always difficult to find accomodation that ticks all the boxes. To our surprise this was one of our best hotel experiences in Europe. Situated away from the main tourist attractions, you really get a sense of everyday living in this city. Walking along the narrow passages, hearing the locals enjoying a laugh... More

Lovely hotel in a peaceful area of Venice but yet in easy walking distance to everything you would want to see. Beautiful fabrics and fittings, clean and well looked after, staff all so friendly. We booked this hotel having looked at many others on Trip Adviser. It was ideal for us, situated in a quiet yet very accessible location midway between the station & St Marks. The staff were super helpful and made our stay feel very special.

Booked this on the back of various internet positive reviews - Was not disappointed 37 room boutique hotel is pretty unique. Upgraded to a suite when we arrived - Which is always nice. Don't let the location on the map fool you, it is only minuets away from the main streets of shops and dining, and has a dock for taking the private water taxis. If you haven't been to Venice before, its not really one street but is like a continuous street lined with shopping and restaurants, and the location the hotel... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
