Villa Las Tronas is the delightful 5-star hotel that has become the symbol of Alghero - “the Golden Door to tourism in Sardinia” - situated on the Riviera del Corallo on the north-west coast of the Island. The hotel rises from the sea-shore with its Spa, nestled in the greenery of nearly two hectares of park that separate it from the Alghero waterfront, on a headland surrounded on three sides by the crystal-clear water of the bay. Numerous quays invite you to sunbathe and swim in the most comfortable, private way. The view is spectacular and the atmosphere so intense and romantic as to steal the hearts of Italian Royalty, who chose the Villa up to the nineteen-forties for their holidays in Sardinia. The bar and panoramic restaurant are the ideal place to relax, while your gaze takes in the Bay of Alghero and rediscovers the timeless luxuriousness inherent in the unique features and character of the villa. The Hotel and the Spa – with its covered sea-water swimming-pool (also looking out over the Mediterranean), sauna, Turkish bath, Kneipp walkway, gym and the beauty area – are open all through the year.

If this "villa" was anywhere else it wouldn't perhaps have the same prestige. It's located on a promontory about 20 minutes walk from the centre of town. It's clean, well staffed and the beds are comfortable. We arrived very late and hungry and were delighted that the barman was

For the price I was expecting a much better room and bathroom. Also breakfast is very mediocre. We had one of the five rooms with a deck which was great-not sure it's worth coming if you don't have one. It's a fifteen minutes nice walk into town. We did not eat at the

Whilst this hotel is pricey - we did love the luxury- the cherubs in the car park set me off for a fabulous stay! Sitting outside having breakfast and lunch - lovely vongole and the grilled fish are recommended. I loved the private sea area - I could snorkel all around the

This place made a big change. Although it's View is fantastic it is very over priced. I'n not sure why I even stayed there. They offer nothing. Their breakfast is not very good since it's so skimpy. They offer nothing else for over $400 per night. The only good thing I can say

johnsabato44, unfortunately, brings our attention back to a controversy that is as old as it is banal; the absolute subjectivity of positive and negative value judgements. Certainly johnsabato44 does not raise the issue with the bored awareness of the aesthete or those who aspire to become one (he would have allowed himself to use phrasing that was a little more amusing), the fact remains that education and perhaps even common sense require us to counter with some considerations that may be obvious but are ultimately necessary. Those who let themselves be seduced by economics by hearsay remain dazzled by an esoteric element that often leads them to believe that they have the innate ability to foretell the right price, the moral price of a good. Apparently, this is so even when the good in question is an intangible asset, which offers nothing to those who benefit from it if not itself. What is the use of a painting? None. Or in our case, what's the use of a sunset? Nothing. Yet many of us attribute a priceless value to this nothing. Why? It would be offensive to retrace in a few lines the symbiosis that has always bound beauty to nothingness. johnsabato44 is happy with this: Las Tronas offers nothing but Las Tronas itself. For breakfast, it does not offer that sweetened and frankly superficial folklore composed of porcetti, launeddas and mamuthones. Nor does it offer an artificial luxury, disconnected from the place and its history, which, with its so-called standards, attacks the ubiquitous international style, in deference to the vulgar equation that wants the most to be equal to the best. Authentic sensitivity is all that is required to recognise the relationship between quality and price at Las Tronas. So many people are raving about this place because obviously they are not lacking that. johnsabato44 richiama, malauguratamente, la nostra attenzione su una polemica tanto vecchia quanto banale; l’assoluta soggettività dei giudizi di valore e di disvalore. A nulla. So many people are raving about this place perché evidentemente non ne sono privi.

Dear Iulia C, further to your request we inform you that the special position of Villa Las Tronas, facing the beautiful gulf of Capo Caccia with its unique and romantic atmosphere, makes it suitable for young couples. The city center is 7 minutes by walk far from the hotel, and we don't have a sandy beach but a rocky terrace with direct access to the sea, which surrounds three sides of the hotel. We remain at your disposal for any further request and offer our best regards. Alessandra Usai Villa Las Tronas Hotel&Spa

Dear Mr & Mrs, We are pleased to inform you that Villa Las Tronas is a good hotel to enjoy for adults and teenagers, close enough, about 15 minutes, to the old town to walk comfortably and visit Alghero by foot. During your stay we surrely suggest to visit the historic centre of Alghero with the ruins of the town walls, towers, Aragonese palaces and Gothic-Catalan churches, in particular the Cathedral and St. Francis’ Church. In the countryside around Alghero certainly worthy of visit is the tomb of Santu Pedru and the prehistoric altar of Monte d’Accoddi, the beautiful prenuragic complex of tombs of Anghelu Ruju, the Neptune's Grotto (one of the most picturesque caves in Sardinia), the most famous Romanesque church "Santissima Trinità di Saccargia" and also the beautifuls beachs like some strips of pure white sand bordered by crystal-clear sea. We also suggest a visit to the Sella & Mosca wine-cellars or make an Alghero tour with a tasting of typical local products. Moreover we just would like reccommend the following destination all worthy to visit and easy to reach by car: Castelsardo, a fortress on the sea at around 70 kilometres from Alghero; Bosa and the Malspina castle, that is a mediaeval town on the river, fairly close to Alghero; Stintino was once a small town of fisherman, right opposite the Asinara Island that it housed a maximun security prison and today it is a park. the Necropolis Anghelu Ruju, the tomb complex Prenuraghic is located 10 km from Alghero on the road to Porto Torres, the Two Seas. Is one of the largest necropolis in Sardinia (38 underground) and one of the most important archaeological sites in the Mediterranean; Nuraghe Palmavera is classified by archaeologists as a nuraghe complex, which consists of several towers joined together to form a veritable palace Nuragic. It is located in northern Sardinia, along the road from Alghero port to the bay of Porto Conte; the Neptune's Caves (one of the most picturesque caves in Sardinia); the Temple / Shrine of Mount d'Accoddi The town of Mount Accoddi, a few km from Porto Torres in direction Sassari, houses an attractive terraced temple altar (2800-2600 BC), which has been compared to the type of ziqqurrat Mesopotamia; the Sanna Museum in Sassari, born in 1878, this museum keeps a very important archaelogical section, an art gallery and an ethnographical selection. The visit takes about 2 hours. Opening time: Tuesday to Sunday, 9.00 – 20.00 (the ticket office closes at 19.30); the most famous Romanesque church "Santissima Trinità di Saccargia"; the Nuraghe Santu Antine, in the territory of Torralba, that is a kind of trefoil, where a strong rampart on three smaller towers reinforces the central tower, which now reaches a height of about 18 meters. To have information about our Hotel and spa you may visit our webite We thank you very much for your interest and we remain at your disposal for any further request. Best regards. Dear Sir/Madam, thank you for contacting Villa Las Tronas. If you would like to reach Alghero from Venezia, please take into consideration that there are several flights from the airport of Venezia-Treviso to Alghero. Another solution could be to take a plane from Venezia Marco Polo to Milano Linate and then another one from Milano Linate to Alghero. The best way to get from the airport Alghero Riviera del Corallo (Sardinia) to Villa Las Tronas is to take a taxi that you will easily find just outside the airport. The airport is about 10 km far from the hotel and each way takes about 20 minutes. We remain at your complete disposal for any further request and, in the meantime, we send our best regards.
