This was a lovely hotel. Simply furnished but comfortable bedrooms. Beautiful courtyard where you could have breakfast or drinks. Indoor furnishings were very grand. Reception staff did not speak good English and I didn't find them too friendly. Waiting staff were very hospitable and helpful. Bedroom was kept amazingly clean and tidy by a nice, friendly lady. The only thing...

My wife and I returned to Catania again at the beginning of May for a more extended stay- last year's was a brief 3 day recon. We elected to stay at the Katane Palace again as we'd enjoyed it last time. We wrote to ask if we could be put in the same room as last time, but could'nt recall...

We stayed as two single people (i.e.single rooms). Hotel recently refurbished to high 'traditional' standard. Most local things are in easy walking distance. Food in hotel good, but you must try Trattoria just around the corner. For travel, use 'enjoysicily.eu' (hotel will book the tours). Get hotel to book taxi to and from airport (25€, incl tip). Seems to be...

The hotel does not stand the comparison with other four stars in Catania. We arrived in the evening after a long drive from Eolian islands. Poorly illuminated and furnished hotel where everything seems to be deprived of color and a rather unwelcoming bleached lady at a reception.A minimal room with 3 types of drinks: water, Pepsi and fanta. Not a...

I recently stayed at Katane Palace for the second time, about five years after my first stay. I'd say it's still a nice hotel with large rooms and very large balconies. At least I got such a room (again) on one of the upper floors facing the small street behind the hotel. I found the room good and clean. The...

Avoid, especially if you book via a website where i think you gt the worse rooms. The rooms were traditional, with dark wood and marble bathrooms, which is not in itself bad, but with just one slim window and a few weak table lights, it can seem quite dingy. The door didnt lock, the very narrow single bed was rick...
