The hotel is run by a delightful couple (Alice and Giuseppe) who made our long weekend so special-we were part of a surprise group for Jan and her family's Sicily trip. Alice kindly let us put up many photos to surprise Jan (60th birthday) on arrival. Great weekend, nicely situated for the centre of Catania & excellent weather. There is... More

My favorite hotel during my Italian adventure. Alice and Guiseppe were so amazing and helpful. You could tell they loved their city and wanted to do everything possible for us to love their city too. When navigation set us off in the wrong direction after arriving in Catania by bus, Alice was so sweet to go out looking for us... More

The hotel Trieste is more a guesthouse than a classical hotel. The owners Alice and Giuseppe are really kind and nice but also very informative about all the places that you want to visit, they will always gie the best advise on where to eat, what to see and they will discover to you the "hidden"stories and histories about Catania and... Hotel Trieste is set in the heart of Catania, so everything is easy to get to from it. Our room was large (especially the very high ceiling) and had its own bathroom. Everything was clean, all you need was provided. We had a little balcony which allowed us to watch the world go by a little. It can be noisy... More

Room 3. I was a very rainy day in Catania, but my hostess was outstanding. She even gave me newspapers to help me dry my soggy shoes. The hotel was in an interesting neighborhood near the beautiful Teatro Bellini, hotels, and bars. A bit noisy Halloween night until nearly 4 am, but the second night was reasonable. It met all... Ok, I'm in my room right now and just paid my bill. It's a great small 1 star hotel owned by Alice and Giuseppe (husband and wife ). I paid total of $327.29 for staying from Monday night the 30th and leaving Sunday morning the 6th. The location is PERFECT 100 ft from center of town at the Opera House... More

This hotel was such a sweet surprise right next to the theatre! The owners are industry veterans and know how to treat their guests. It was very nice spending time with them just chatting...it didn't hurt that their children were so well mannered!!

The hotel is very central, just behind Teatro Massimo Bellini. It felt more like a B&B than a hotel, with the family living onsite. There is a buzzer to access the green gate. Walk into an open garage area about 5m & on the left are the stairs up to the hotel. Good points: - Giuseppe & Alice are so... More

We stayed in the hotel Trieste for two nights. It's located in a perfect place, in the historical heart of the town! Although we arrived too early, there was no problem whatsoever to check in, they organised quickly another room for us! The advices, suggestions and... More

The street outside looks like a bit of a war zone (crumbling mortar, graffiti etc)... but don't let that put you off: MOST of the streets in Catania look like war zones anyway, I guess it's just a lack of maintenance. Once you get inside it's a pleasant modern hotel run by a friendly couple who speak excellent English. The... More
