Lovely hotel, very cleam. Our room was big, and modern, and had all the facilities we needed. Check-in was quick and efficient. Location is OK, it's near the port, so you have a bit of walking to do to get to the main central attractions. Breakfast was a buffet, however each morning there were 2 waiters/waitresses who didn't seem to have a lot to do (as it was quiet), so it felt like they were beside you looking over your shoulder while at the buffet. It felt slightly uncomfortable. Breakfast was nice though, a lot of sweet items, could do with more savoury and hot food. You have to pay extra for an omlette, even though the fillings are taken straight from the buffet.
Great Hotel, great location to explore the wonderful city. So much to see. Hotel was fab, lovely room, comfortable and clean , staff fantastic. Breakfast was nice lots of choice with a great view. We would definitely recommend. Hotel also arranged for a Taxi to pick us up from airport.
I loved this hotel and the helpful staff. Warm quiet and comfortable off a small street near the marina in the old town and near wonderful museums, galleries, cafes, bars and restaurants. It felt a safe place and reception staff were very helpful with recommendations on everything. There was s lovely breakfast in the morning with smiling lovely staff and amazing cakes that were different every morning. There was a wonderful view from the breakfast terrace and a pleasant bar in the evening time for light food. The rooms were cleaned spotlessly everyday and there was a free local bus that stopped near the hotel that circled the old town. Piazza Marina nearby, had lots of restaurants and there were many more local places to eat in the small streets also nearby. We stayed 10 days and we really fell in love with this beautiful city and it’s incredible history, culture and people. The hotel was in a great location and we are grateful for the lovely hospitality we received. Thanks to all the staff. Go raibh míle maith agat.…
This is an excellent hotel for a lovely stay in Palermo. Opposite the wonderful Butera Gallery and gorgeous restaurant.we stayed 10 days and we're made very welcome. It was super comfortable. Our rooms were at the back of the hotel with long French doors and shutters. Wonderfuly quiet at night.
The hotel is tucked away but within easy walking distance of all the centre and main attractions. The rooms are large and the beds comfortable. To be honest our rooms on the first floor were a little dark, with no view but we only really went there to sleep and, as I said, the beds were very comfortable... There were negative comments on here about the air-conditioning but mine worked very well. Have a word with reception to get your desired temperature. The breakfast is good and the roof terrace a real bonus. All of the staff; housekeeping, front desk, breakfast and bar, were delightful - so helpful and friendly!
We stayed here for two nights before we traveled around Sicily. The location was perfect, the accommodations were exactly as expected and the staff was excellent. Palermo is a very walkable town and this location was close to the sights and waterside restaurants. The hotel was kept very clean and our room was much larger than we expected it to be (a sitting room and a separate bedroom). The big, floor to ceiling windows opened and gave the perfect Sicilian balcony feeling. Air condition was perfect (you have to close the windows) and necessary - we were there in mid-June and it was unusually HOT. They served the typical Italian breakfast on the top floor and we could sit on the terrace or inside (in air conditioning). We can rave about the staff at reception forever. They reached out before our arrival to ask if they could arrange transportation from the airport. Our flight kept getting delayed and they watched the flight details to ensure someone would be there at 12:30 AM to pick us up. Beyond grateful, as flying into Palermo after midnight without this arranged would have been a little unnerving for us. The next day, we couldn't find a rental car to save our life (we checked every online outlet available), but the front desk arranged it quickly - set it up so we could drop off at a different location - and then had the rental company pick us up and bring us to the car. They drafted an excellent itinerary for our 5-day drive around Sicily and his recommendations were perfect! They even told us right where to see the perfect sunsets, routes to take, and where to stop off for great beaches.…
I stayed at the Hotel Porta Felice for 5 nights. Firstly, all of the staff were really friendly and always available to help with recommendations or bookings as not many of the locals spoke English in Palermo. The room was clean and spacious, and the location of the hotel was close to the majority of local tourist attractions (i.e. 15 minute walk to train and bus station, 20 minute walk to the cathedral and town square). Just to note, the hotel did not have air con and there are currently a lot of building works going on at the front and back of hotel, so if you want to have the windows open for cool air, expect a lot of noise from 7am or during the night on the semi-busy road just outside. The hotel also does not have an iron available which I have never experienced before or any hair conditioner (only shampoo and body lotion), so make sure you bring your own! Another thing to know, the hotel walls are very thin you can hear everything in the rooms next to you and from the corridor - this didn't impact us much as we barely spent anytime in the room and we are quite heavy sleepers! There was a range of average breakfast options (hot and cold), with again extremely polite, helpful staff and the view on the balcony was beautiful. Food in the evening was very cheap and convenient but nothing special, we only used this option once as a quick snack but there are some lovely restaurants in the town centre with delicious Sicilian food! We also used the spa during our visit, the spa was clean and nice however the massage was extremely disappointing and I wouldn't recommend. It felt like the masseuse had no experience or prior training on how to give massages and I could easily have said it was the worst 45 minute massage I have ever had especially at ~50 euros. Overall, this hotel was for a great price and we had a great stay just a few minor things we wish we would have known before staying!…
I stayed as part of a small group tour in this hotel for 3 nights. The room was clean, well appointed, and quite comfortable. They were very attentive to COVID protocols. Breakfast buffet was a delight with a mix of Sicilian, European, and American choices. WiFi service was very good. It is a very short walk to the waterfront and a 10 minute walk to the Quattro Canti (4 corners) where historical and architectural sites abound. I would stay here again.
Hotel is overall very well presented. Our room was lovely however the noise was a big problem. We were put in a room where our balcony was facing building work being done, every morning at 8am we were woken by workmen chucking bricks onto the wooden slats which was frustrating. You’re also able to hear everything happening in the corridors and feel as if you have no privacy in your room as you’re able to hear other people’s conversations from your bed. Another annoying thing about the room was that you weren’t able to adjust the temperature in the room at all, if you wanted the air con on or heating it was blank and unable to be changed. The selection at breakfast was okay however you have to pay for the hot food and it’s no longer a buffet due to covid, there was some language barriers at breakfast so it was a bit difficult to tell them what you wanted but this wasn’t much of an issue. The only problem at breakfast was that nothing got replenished, it was a matter of first come first served. But the spa was a lovely and I’d definitely recommend.…
It’s an attractive enough hotel in good proximity to the major attractions. It’s a 15 euro taxi ride for the train station and 50 euro ride to the airport. I got a good rate of $99 per night with Trip Advisor Plus. I think what Trip Advisor Plus is doing is offering good rates at decent hotels that need a boost in their ratings, which I am ok with as a concept. The side street it is on was dark at night and a bit sketchy; they should really speak to the City about putting up some lights. The internet only worked in the lobby, and I had to call reception to have them turn the AC on. My room was on the second floor near the atrium so I could hear most of what went on the lobby when the AC was not on. There was no luggage rack in the room and my suitcase did not fit in the closet. They had SKY TV so some channels could be viewed in English. To use the spa sauna and jacuzzi area, they wanted 30 euro (~$35 US) and that was the guest rate. Had they offered a little bit more of a discount, I would have partaken of it. The gym was sufficient and the breakfast on the roof top was pleasant. The front desk printed my Covid test for me, booked my taxi back to the train station, and handed me a breakfast bag upon my early morning departure.…
