Excellent service, rooms clean, comfortable and cool with good facilities. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about their city. Great recommendations for restaurants and excellent taxi services.
In a peculiar apartment building packed with small hotels, this was all so disappointing. Huge bath in the room which didn't work, kitchenette sink with no water, window which didn't close. The room had not been cleaned properly, the street noise was so loud. The breakfast room is too small so you are kept waiting. And not cheap! Very disappointing.
It is on the 4th floor of a building with small BnBs quite central. It is a bit noisy in the morning due to traffic but we did mind. Rooms were spacious and clean, the bathroom suffered a bit from bad ventilation, it was moist with some small black patches of fungus in the corner. Breakfast was brilliant, what was missing could be order, very friendly service. It is very central and you can do everything by walking even with our 5y old son. Martine is just brilliant - she took care of our car as we pre-ordered parking (definitely advisable if you have a car) and explained us where to go and where to find street food and good trattoria.
The roof collapsed at 3am when we were on our honey moon, so we were left on the street with another pregnant couple. We wanted to leave immediately, but were refused a refund. Greedy, egocentric owner. Expect a reply where he denies everything. I wanted you.
On day one, we shopped and dined at the Via Principe Belmonte at Max"s recommendation. Our last full day, Max arranged for a driver to give us a tour of Palermo and Monreale. Our family of four had a very nice time. The trip and the stay in Palermo offered good value. Monreale is beautiful
We stayed here as a one night stopover on our way to Taormina. We arrived late at 11pm. The hotel is fairly difficult to find, and I don't think we were given any clear instructions when we received our confirmation of booking. There is a sign on the street to the b&b and then you have to take the lift to the 5th floor. We hired a car and parked on the street - parking overnight is free until 8am and then it's 1 Euro an hour. Make sure you get the right ticket as we were told by a local the next day that we had bought the wrong type of ticket and that each street is managed by a different parking company depending on the colour of the lines on the road! Fortunately we "got away with it". Overall I would definitely recommend the b&b. Rooms are big, air conditioned, plenty of towels. Breakfast is good with lots of fruit and good coffee. The staff particularly Martina and then young girl serving breakfast were very friendly and kind. It's fairly reasonable and I think last minute bookings online are even cheaper. …
We stayed for just one night at maxim. Pre-arrival communication was excellent and the owner was so helpful. We arrived late; he helped us with parking and recommended a restaurant to us. We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely. Room was spotlessly clean and nicely furnished. Breakfast was excellent- far too many Italian cakes to choose from, and a smiley face on top of me cappuccino. Great location an easy walk from the main pedestrian area. Highly recommend!
We spent a beautiful time in Palermo this May in B+B Maxim. Thanks for friendly wellcoming, because we arrived at the airport at 11 pm. The rooms were spacious, clean and well decorated. Breakfast was perfect. Also location is very good. I would like to thank to Max and Francesca with helping us with our rent-car. NEVER let your car on the street, use the two parking place of B+B. . During afternoon was our car pull down with help of local police. But this was the only horrible experience.
My wife made a mistake when booking room in b&b maxim - instead of 16 Sept she put 6 Sept. As a result she was charged upfront for 12 nights instead of 2 and we had to replan all our travel to Sicily. We wrote several requests to change dates of reservation to the hotel and only third was replied with strict NO POSIBLE. We called the hotel to resolve the situation - every time the same person was taking our call byt naming himself differently: John, Juiseppe etc.(that was Max in fact), and every time reply was "call tomorrow cao-cao, I have to discuss it with my colleagues". So we arrived to the hotel - location is perfect, close to everything, pretty clean and comfortable but nothing special, good place for a short stay. We thought we could get any compensation or discount as we were planning to stay only 4 nights out of 12 prepaid. Max said that he could do that if he could sell 8 nights while we were traveling around the island. But when we got back to the hotel in 8 days he said he could not remember we had any agreement. Well, next thing he said he could do was giving us or our frinds free nights in his b&b when we are next time in Palermo. He suggested that we write a letter to him re this agreement when we are back home. And so we did. Did we receive any reply? No. Nothing. So beware: typos when booking this hotel and greedy Max.…
When we arrived and realized that we booked a B & B in a horrible building we almost gave up, but Maximo ( the owner) was so welcoming and friendly offering us a Cappuccino and immediately helping us with the car and luggage that we decided to stay . Good decision : the room is well decorated, with a nice bathroom , spacious and clean. The breakfast is very good and all the staff are kindly and helpful . I certainly recommend Max rocks !!
