We stayed at this hotel in Palermo for seven nights. First, the location near the old city is top. We were within walking distance of all things intriguing. The staff was helpful and friendly but a bit paranoid and asked every day if we were leaving when we went out. The room was clean and comfortable, with a double bed. The air conditioning, two, never worked. The room included breakfast, which was a waste of money. We went the first morning, but nothing was fresh, OJ was sugar water, and the coffee was brown with some milk foam. Parking is a big issue in this area. The hotel is just inside the ZTL zone (an old town with narrow roads), but you can still get to the hotel if you have the nerve. After arriving, we learned that the hotel had a relationship with a parking garage, and they would take it to the garage on the first day and bring it back on the last day. The overnight cost was 15€. You can pick up the car anytime you want, and someone will drive the vehicle out of the narrow exit for you. So far, so good. One morning, we tried to use our car and learned that a 5€ ZTL ticket each day needed to be bought at a tobacco shop to exit the ZTL zone. The ticket is valid until 00:00 that day. We never understood the logic that leaving an area required a payment. We bought the tickets. The walk to the garage is about 10 minutes. A parking attendant brings the car to the street in a pedestrian area. The good thing is you drive only 100 meters and then use the main road to exit the city. When returning to the hotel with the car, the area is full of cars parked everywhere on a narrow street. We then requested to have the garage pick up the vehicle. Only with being firm and willing to accept a 5€ charge did someone come. Each night was a bit of a drama when we returned with the car, but it did work. My advice is to determine who takes the vehicle to the garage and what price. The roads are very narrow one way in nature and require driving down “no car zones” to reach the garage. Drivers be warned! The room was well insulated, but Saturday was so loud to 05:00 that my wife did not sleep. I used earplugs and got through. Showering was odd, and often we only had hot water. It usually is the other way around. Another tip is the fresh fruit bar just around the corner at the dock. We had our morning food start often at this location. All in all, a mixed bag, but the positive outweighs the negative. We recommend this location with some cautions.…

Upon arrival we were given room 502 (attic room) which was nice and modern. However, there were quite a few issues, the main one being that the window/balcony gives onto the heating or AC unit which was very loud and could be heard even with the window closed. Also, the fridge wasn't working, the TV remote and kettle were missing and there was no shampoo or soap in the bathroom. Because of these issues, the hotel upgraded us to a bigger room on a lower floor. Even though there was a lot of noise coming from the street, it was quiet enough with the windows closed. Breakfast buffet is ok. The location is great. No parking available at the hotel.

Excellent hotel! We couldn’t behave picked a better location to amazing restaurants all in walking distance. We never needed a car. The buses and trains are safe and affordable. We can’t say enough about how the staff go out of their way to answer questions and help. We don’t speak much Italian but they wasn’t a problem. They were willing to call around town and get us an appointment for the Covid test. But we found out you can just go to the train station and get it for free. They don’t require an appointment. It was fast. We got our test and results in 30 min. The hotel was so nice, updated and clean. The hair dryer was handy. Nice free products in the bathroom. We had a small fridge. The ac worked great. Best thing was we were on the top floor and couldn’t hear any street noise. Worst thing was how firm the bed was. We usually had hot water. Sometimes a little in the lukewarm side. Pressure was always good. We didn’t eat the breakfast at the hotel since we like to live like locals and have caffe and cornetto at the bar. The morning we were leaving our phone didn’t work for our wake up call. The staff came up to our room and knocked on the door. We appreciated this. No where in the USA are you going to get that!…

The room was clean and modern, and the bathroom had the mini shampoos etc. and slippers. Location is great as everything could be reached on foot. It's a lovely family-run hotel, which shows in all its friendly and professional staff. I want to give a special Thank You to Consuelo, who was so friendly and had loads of advice for us - from vegetarian restaurants to how to get around the city, and especially the help on how to cross the roads! That was an eye opener! Thank you, Consuelo.

We recently stayed at hotel which was in a convenient location, close to everything. We had a suite which was tasteful, and generous in size. AC worked well, thankfully, in the August heat! Had a small balcony with a table and 2 chairs. Bathroom area also a good size. Most importantly, the service by the front desk staff was exceptional, especially from Alessandra. She went well beyond her duties to help us with various questions regarding required PCR testing in the area. She made numerous calls attempting to locate labs that were open. She booked a special driver for us, who attempted to take us to several testing locations and then attempted to wait at the airport after we checked in, in order to drive us to an airport testing location. Alessandra was in almost constant contact with the wonderful driver, to check in on our status. They were both exceptionally helpful and professional and we truly appreciated everything they did for us. Alessandra is certainly an crucial member of the hotel team.…

Fairly new, and i suggest you go now before the prices go up - good facilities, good value and excellent location. Not to mention great service from the staff - a particular mention for the lovely Francesca and also Allessandra. Wifi was excellent and the breakfast good. We loved it and would stay again. If you have a car. Firstly, good luck as the traffic is hair-raising, but secondly, they can arrange to have your car parked in a private underground car park - taken and delivered back by the car park staff. We found this excellent and useful as the streets are full, and not too expensive at 15 euros a day.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this new hotel. My room was large, well equipped (including a kettle) and the bed comfortable. It had two balconies with a view of the street below and a glimpse of the marina. The walk in shower was powerful and easy to control. The wifi was fast and easy to use but I did not need the air conditioning. Housekeeping was of a high standard. Breakfast (included in the price) was simple, of high quality, presentation and service excellent. It is located a few minutes walk from Via Roma and Via Vittorio Emanuele in the old town. The area is rather run down but this was not a concern. The airport shuttle stops at Via Roma and was convenient. Above all I was impressed by the excellence of all the people working at the hotel.

La Serenissima was lovely in all respects. Fairly recently opened, clean and stylish. Comfortable. Very good breakfast. Excellent location in the midst of the old town. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, with excellent English! We felt at home there and would love to stay there again.
