Grand Hotel et Des Palmes has garnered compliments for its cleanliness, with guests appreciating the spacious and modern rooms that offer comfort and impeccable hygiene. While the hotel's central location is a big draw, noted for its convenience to attractions and dining, opinions on the value are mixed, with some reviewers pointing out high costs and inconsistent service.
The elegant atmosphere and well-regarded amenities, including the luxurious breakfast and stylish bars, are highlights, though some guests have suggested improvements in service and additional furnishings in rooms.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, as our introduction to Palermo. The hotel staff were very attentive. We also booked a large suite , so it was very spacious and overlooked the inner courtyard, so it was very quiet as well. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was large with all the required toiletries and necessities , the breakfast was included in their grand room which was really beautiful, with many fresh options, all types of food options including gluten free.
The location was perfect just several blocks away from the main tourist attractions accessible by foot. They also have a valet service. If you’re bringing a car the front desk staff were very nice and informative.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again if ever in Palermo. I believe it’s the best one.
Not hotel related but just a note about the city as well: it was sad and disappointing to see so much trash, garbage and lack of garbage bins across the city. There was garbage EVERYWHERE even in the lost beautiful historic sites. Such a sad state for such a beautiful city. I hope with more tourism they manage to clean up their city.

The hotel was located in The heart of the city. Accessible to everthing.
The rooms are large and well appointed, with comfortable bedding, large bathroom and nice bath products. I suggest you Do NOT ask for a room in the front of the hotel, extremely loud, city noise until early hours of the morning.
Hotel staff were extremely friend!y, my luggage did not arrive with me and the hotel took control and contacted the airport and tracked down my luggage
Breakfast was your typical European breakfast large variety of beads and pastry.
Highly recommended this property.

Beautifully restored gem from a different era. Excellent location right in one of main streets in town, minutes walk from the historic city center, a block below tens upon tens of restaurants on one of many pedestrian streets.
Everything is nearby and easily walkable.
As others have said, the staff is wonderful and seems genuinely happy to be working there - Bruno at the front, stopped what he was doing to give the history of the place and the restoration efforts that went into it, just because he caught me admiring the ceilings.
The bar is fantastic. As is the restaurant, and breakfast.
Rooms are generous in size and the bathrooms are knockouts.
Worth the money.

This review is about the restaurant on the terrace of the 5th floor. I went tonight to get my favorite dish, linguine with clams. The dish left me a bit disappointed : It contained also zucchini and their flowers which overwhelmed completely the delicate taste of the clams. I got a glass of wine: the sommelier poured a very small quantity of it, way below half of the glass. When I made a remark about how little wine I got, he started a very pedantic explanations of exactly how many milliliters an ELEGANT restaurant should offer. He added that all the other restaurants who ordered a fuller glass were vulgarians. The dessert was fine. The whole experience - for the money I spent - was kind of disappointing.

The Grand Hotel et Des Palmes is an oasis of calm, warmth and elegance in Palermo. A recent renovation has preserved the best features of the beautiful, historic interior while seamlessly adding updated touches. Our room was spacious, pristine and decorated very tastefully, with a refreshing and elegant simplicity. We chose an interior room, which was very quiet at night. Our bed was comfortable, and our bathroom was large, stylish and well-equipped (although I would recommend asking for a rubber mat for the tub — supplied immediately when I requested it). The location is great, within walking distance of the historic center and two blocks away from a pedestrian street with a number of dining options. The breakfasts were outstanding, with many fresh and delicious options. On three of our four nights at the hotel, we had cocktails at the hotel bar, and I can’t say enough about how great that was — a drinks menu that (among many other choices) had four pages of gin selections, including an entire page of gins from Italy; a friendly and knowledgeable staff who made great recommendations and remembered our drink preferences; a lovely selection of amuse-bouches delivered to our table; and excellent cocktails. Most of all, what made our stay truly special was the warmth, cheerfulness and helpfulness of all the staff. This is an extraordinarily good hotel.

We chose this hotel from a shortlist of 3 (Wagner & Massimo plaza-both of which visited while there). The right choice for us. Our expectations were surpassed. From the moment we emailed reception (a million thanks to the beautiful Marina and her colleagues) to arrange a private airport transfer (worth every penny to have a mercedes waiting for us), I knew the customer service was first class. And it continued until the second we left. The beauty and grandeur of the hotel speaks for itself. The background of smooth jazz playing, even in the breakfast room, adds to the ambience. The location was perfect, 4 min from Politeana teatro, 6 min from Massimo teatro, in the heart of the city. Customer service is everything, and the staff are truly amazing. We stayed in a superior city view, two balconies, the room was perfect. If you are going to Palermo, this is the hotel to be in. A huge thanks to Marina and Dario on reception, who couldn't have done more for us. Mgt and Phil x

We booked two nights at this magnificent hotel. The location for touring was perfect. The design with updated old work elegance was superb. The windows were soundproof. The room from the flooring, moldings, fixtures. lighting, bedding were exquisite. The welcome sweets with a note was as well. The bathroom was perfectly functional and the large tub was welcomed after a long day of touring. The towels were fluffy. Lots of closet space. I can't imagine anyone not giving this 5 star. The breakfast had lots of choices and everything was delicious. The room was elegant. The service was even better than the beauty of the hotel. A special shout out to Valeria who helped me set up my day but also found a lost diamond earring and sent it to me. We will return and recommend this exquisite spot.

The Hotel itself is very nice. The rooms were clean and of nice size. Thats where the good ends. The room we stayed in had something above us making noise at all hours of the day. Since we were on the top floor I can only guess that it was workers in the restaurant or some sort of maintenance. Impossible to sleep with the noise all night along with the AC not working. We ate at the 5th floor restaurant both nights we stayed at the hotel. The first night was pleasant however the 2nd night was terrible. Stick to the sushi menu because their “Italian twist” menu is not good and it took forever to get our food. We were also not given the wine that we ordered but were instead charged for a higher priced bottle of wine. On to the worst part of the hotel, the bar on the 1st floor. The service is atrocious for both breakfast and drinks. It took 30 minutes at breakfast to get a cappuccino after reminding them that we did not get it. No apology was given. But I guess I should’ve been happy with actually getting it since when we went back for drinks and we sat at our table for 45 minutes after ordering a 2nd round of drinks and no one ever came with them or came to help. Save your money and find a better hotel, the service needs to vastly improve before they can even get to 3 stars.

This is the best hotel in Palermo! Incredible service, the staff was soooo helpful and kind regarding activities and where to eat, just above and beyond service in every way. Valet parking was so fast snd wonderful, their breakfast buffet was amazinggg truly delicious and our room was phenomenal. Extremely comfortable beds and luxe bath, such a perfect spot to explore Sicily from and get some good rest. Highly recommend this to anyone staying in Palermo, also the location was perfect to walk to all of the beautiful spots and close to sooo much delicious food. Don’t miss this gem! Also they have an amazing bar with spectacular cocktails.

We spent 3 nights at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect with a good variety of restaurants a few minutes away and all the main attractions withing easy walking distance. This is a beautifully renovated 5* property but is not in the least bit stuffy and never felt crowded. All of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and there is an excellent selection for breakfast. Would recommend when staying in Palermo.
