This venue is a gem: it has a great location to all of the local historical sites and the quality of venue compliments this. The venue offers quality rooms and services (the breakfast was great) and is located near a range of quality restaurants with great food. It is located near the train station which for us was another plus....

Never found the dining room or bar. Lovely superior room but very stuffy and if doors left open to terrace midges and noise from street. Very clean in room. Beautiful old building and good situation. Staff answered questions but not very forthcoming.

If you like the sterile predictability of concrete and glass hotels - don't book in here. It is a very old palazzo, 1920s in style and the decor is absolutely stunning (imagine Poirot arriving or having coffee in the main reception). Some bits are a little tired and faded but we found it only added to the charm. Our room...

We stayed at this central hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. Firstly, the concierge and his team were helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to go the xtra mile and always knew who we were. They recommended three excellent restaurants and one that we wanted tottery was also on their radar. The room was extremely comfortable,...

I travel for work all over Europe, stayed in 100's of hotels, this is easily in my bottom 3!! Rooms are basic. Bath was filthy, shower so old the seals had gone so continuously running. Even the TV remote had a room card screwed to the back holding in the batteries! Worst of it though was the extremely rotten windows...

I arrived after midnight, having to take my own luggage to my room, which was very tricky to find as poorly sign posted and quite out of the way (not following logic with other room numbers). So my immediate response was not great. In the morning, there was a lot of choice available for breakfast, not all of which top...

A wonderful step back in time with chandeliers and a stunning mirrored breakfast room. My mother and I spent 3 very pleasant nights at Grand Hotel et Des Palmes in the centre of Palermo. Some might find this hotel is in need of modernisation, but we found that it's old fashioned splendour complemented perfectly with the classy bustle of Sicily's...

The hotel says it is Grand but the hotel is in need of some upkeep to maintain the name and image. Although the foyer is splendid the accommodation rooms, the hallways and the banquet rooms all need attention to bring the hotel back to its former beauty.

Bring back the days of yesteryear when you stop over at this fine old hotel. Like a gracious, but somewhat faded, lady, her facade is brilliant and captivating, while a closer look might uncover her true age. Overall, a good place to stay. Right on one of Palermo's main streets, via Roma, it's an easy walk down to the middle...

If you're going to get worked up over carpet stains and tears, you should probably stay away from Palermo. It's a gritty city from what I can tell. The Grand Hotel et Des Palmes is nevertheless perfectly nice. My room was large and comfortable. Perfectly clean. Good marble shower with a door. I'm not one for shower curtained bathtubs so...
