We loved this hotel. Right down in the center of the historic district sits this beautiful former villa. Rooms were small, but clean and welcoming. The late evening bar is a must stop, Roberto the bartender was gracious, interesting, and worked hard to communicate well with us english speakers. You can't go wrong staying in this place at reasonable priced rooms. The breakfast included was insanely good too.
We splurged on this hotel, the last place we stayed in Italy, and we were glad we did. It's right in the center of Palermo, near lively streets full of restaurants and beautiful baroque architecture. The hotel itself is rather like a grand old dowager--elegant in an old-fashioned way. The public areas are impressive. Our room was large, though not very different from less expensive hotels we've stayed in. The managers at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a restaurant and a rooftop bar, though we didn't visit either. The breakfast buffet was large and included hot dishes. We enjoyed staying here.
nice room. slightly older. beautiful lobby, slightly deceiving. to be honest they will be getting 5 stars due to the kind staff. greeted me welcomingly, and the day of departure they were hesitant but had a ease of brain and change of heart and allowed me to use facilities. appreciated.
My wife and I stayed at the Eurostars Centrale Palace at the end of a one week self-guided driving tour of Sicily. It was the final splurge on a 5-week stay in Italy. It was well worth the added expense. The hotel is a central as can be, literally just steps away from the famous "Four Corners" intersection making outings to various parts of the city easy and efficient. Above all, considering our room facd the very busy street below, it was impressively and appreciatively quiet. While the hotel seems a bit faded around the edges (repairing worn furnishings and a touch of new paint here would improve things much) there was still a satisfying sense of old palace elegance in its public spaces. The breakfast room and food offerings were top notch - for an added fee, but worth it.
The location is good, close to all the sights and nice areas. The rooms are terrible, worn, dirty, no light (standard room). It is cold and smells like mold. The building and the common areas themselves are grand but also incredibly worn. The overall feeling is that it is very dirty and stale and in dire need of renovation!
There are many factors that I keep staying at this hotel since 2016. 1) The location in the historic district of Palermo. Within a very short walking distance are the Palermo Cathedral, the Norman Palace, the Fountain of Shame, the Ballaro Market, the Vucchiara (sic) Market, the Capo Market and the Massimo Theatre, Just to name a few. 2) The restaurants within close proximity are wide and varied. I have left other reviews on them. 3) The hotel itself - a former Palace residence of the Tarallo family. The rooms are spacious and up to date (I usually reserve a Superior room) with a balcony and walk in shower and sometimes a bathtub. The water pressure is excellent as well as the products provided. 4) The included breakfast on the second floor - JUST GRAND! I had read the reviews of limited breakfast due to the Covid Pandemic but the offerings were the same as I have always experience. Eggs, Bacon, Mini Hot Dogs, Arancini, Deli Meat & Cheese selections, Fruit, Yogurt, Pastries, Breads, Biscotti, a Variety of Coffees, Juices etc. 5) The staff from the front desk, housekeeping and the breakfast staff. All very friendly and accommodating to every need. I would never stay at another hotel in Palermo again. Thank you Mr. Romeo, Veronica and the rest of the staff for another relaxing and enjoyable stay.…
Positive points: - The location could not be better, close to the cathedral and to the Quattro Canti square. It allows to see all the major points of the city within a walking distance. If that is the priority, this is a wonderful choice. - The decoration remembers a true Italian classic palace, with a beautiful entrance and beautiful halls. Negative points: - However, the comfort of the room is NOT a priority for this hotel. - Furniture and beds are outdated and rooms are not comfortable. - There is no insonorization on the rooms and it is possible to listen the personnel cleaning the rooms since early morning. You can imagine the sound and the echo of doors knocking and chairs being deviated in an old building... - If a guest arrives at 2 A.M., you can listen everything he does, including having a shower, talking to his mate or simply walking by the room. You can only sleep when everybody else is sleeping. - Breakfast is served in a nice terrace, but the quality of the food is not high and specially there is really few variety. In conclusion, this hotel does not match to the patterns of a 4 star hotel according to the majority of European countries.…
Nice hotel in great location. We paid for a superior room and got a spacious room but the windows faced walls so it was impossible to see anything outside. We found the fron desk staff somewhat surly and twice they gave us wrong information (where to get a rapid COVID test for travel and how best to get out of the city when leaving). Other hotels we stayed in this trip gave us parking info; we received no information from Eurostars and were chastised on arrival for not having parking reservations. Fortunately they have an arrangement with a local car park (20 E/night though). Notwithstanding no view out, the room was nice and the breakfast OK given pandemic limitations. View from the 4th floor breakfast room is stunning.
Very centrally located hotel. OK size of the room and very nice terrace. Nice bathroom. Cleaning was good. A bit outdated decor, for example the floor which was quite worn. Very good that the breakfast items were individually packed to minimize the risk for spreading infections. Great staff in the breakfast room and fantastic views! Main drawback is the old fashioned key system with a regular, bulky key that needed to be handed in to the reception. The staff performed no ID check at all before they handed us the key, which felt very unsecure as anyone could have gain access.
The hotel is situated in the center of Palermo, few meters from the cathedral and Plazzo dei Normanni. Walking distance from the main attractions. The hotel is very charming. The rooms are large and clean but needing some resgtorations. Breakfast is served on a terrace. The quality of breakfast is very good. Worth for price
