Close to train station in front of the Lidl and not far from the city centre, this hotel is made by a couple of apartments with long corridors at fourth floor of ancient building. The building entrance need a hard refresh but there's a comfortable elevator. AC in the room doesn't work properly and so the TV channels but the view from the balcony is amazing.

They don't speak English or any other language and they don't care if you don't understand them. For me it was kind of exhausting and annoying that they kept on talking fast and didn't even try to get us to understand. I think this is unacceptable if you're running a hotel for tourists. I don't expect hotel receptionist to be fluent in all the languages but still... We were lucky with our room, it was big enough and we had a double bed. Well, actually it were two beds put together and a sheet abvoe it, but nonetheless it was okay. Bathroom was okay. Breakfast was awful. At first I thought "oh cool, we'll get breakfast in bed because there is no extra area/room for breakfast. We had to cross on a paper what we wanted for breakfast. The problem was, it was in Italian. No other language options. So it took a while to figure out what was what. We got a tiny tray witb two coffees, two cold and small toast and jelly from a plastic thing. The croissants were filled with some sort of jelly. The worst thing though was the insane noise. You couldn't let the window open because the street was extremely loud. And inside the hotel or rather the old house was some kind of noise early in the morning. Couldn't figure out what it was. I'd rather stay in a hostel than here ever again. Thankfully it was just for one night.

A family-run hotel that has been in the family for decades, Hotel Italia offers a place to stay that is full of old-world charm and current day comforts, including air conditioning and an elevator that takes you up to the hotel on an upper floor. The rooms are simple and elegant and comfortable. The host speaks English and is happy to help with any questions. The hotel is on a main street, which makes it very convenient, and at the same time it's very quiet for a wonderful night's rest. In my experience, Palermo B&Bs on higher floors sometimes do not have an elevator, but Hotel Italia does, and the elevator has terrific ironwork flower detail. The location is great with the Central Train Station just down the street, and there are many, many Palermo sites within walking distance, including one of my favorite's, the Pretoria Fountain. This hotel is especially perfect if you're traveling solo and looking for a spot that feels safe and welcoming. I highly recommend this special place.

It was late and I was too tired to check any further so I accepted the room even though it was fetid. The staff was really kind trying every possible way to fix things by bringing us detergents and products. (It's not the employee's fault that the owner offers substandard accommodations ) There was no toilet seat and he got the problem solved in the next afternoon. (Refer to photo) lights without light bulbs. (refer to photo), faulty shower door. Headboard merely leans on the wall hence knocking it whenever one moves in bed. A double glazed window would be nice, since the room is facing the main road where police sirens come quite often. The linens are clean, the floor is spotless. If a hotel of the same level in Lisbon charging €23 can offer more comforts yet without the above mentioned defects then at €50 a night, this hotel can definitely do more.

after being turned away from our confirmed booking via booking com at B&B Liberty Teatro Santa Cecilia , we looked for a nearby affordable hotel. We enquired at Hotel Italia Palermo and were welcomed and provided a room with no problem. Their room rate was even cheaper than the BnB we had booked. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, providing helpful advice on restaurants and taxi service. They even helped me track down a lost IPhone left in a taxi and expressed posted to my home address in Australia. So grateful and appreciative Thanks to the staff !!!

The hotel has a good location, but it's really loud at night because it's on a main street. The staff is very nice and helpfull. The breakfast is also delicious. In conclusion the hotel is perfekt for short stay!

Old building, bathroom in room. Other reviews are accurate however you can choose the elements in your breakfast yourself from approximately 15 elements (yoghurt, big croissant with or without apricot marmelade, water, orange juice, coffee, tea, mini croque monsieur, ...) so the breakfast definitely is better than basic.

Hotel has room on the 4th floor, make sure you ask for a quiet room. The have rooms that have the windows towards the street, the can be noisy. Breakfast is croissant, toast, yogurt and fruit, served at our room. Possible to leave bags in the hotel after checkout. 5 min to straight way to railway station, easy to walk. A supermarket very close to the hotel.

If you like to stay at centre, hang out at streets you need to walk around 1km or more to stay at this hotel. Only close to train terminal. Taxi charges around eur 17. We booked with bathroom outside the room, but then we learned that that means shared bathroom!!! They said that only 1 other room is using, but very very unpleasant. Not clean and very far from the room. You need to have a long walk in the corridor, outside of other rooms! Very annoying, you even don't want to take a bath.

I do not agree that this is a hotel, it's more like a hostel or B&B. We stayed here for two nights, and arrived by bus from palermo airport. The hotel is close to the bus and train station only 5 minutes walk with suitcases. It is also walking distance to sentrum. The staff i very friendly and helpful. Our room was large with private bathroom. But we were not impressed of the cleanliness of the room. Aircondition did not work and for us who are from Norway, it was a little to hot at night. But for such a low price in the heart of Palermo you can not expect much more. Ivwould not have chosen to stay here for a long time, but for a few nights it was quite okay.
