This elegant, family-run hotel is steeped in history and character and boasts a fortunate position in the historic centre of Palermo, just 300 metres from Teatro Massimo. Hotel Posta was once a noble residence and is definitely one of the most historic hotels in Palermo. It has been run with love and care by the same family since 1921. They are always on hand to assist in any way they can and can book excursions, tours, and theatre tickets. You can relax in the lounge with its well-stocked library and enjoy a cocktail in the cosy bar, open 24 hours. In warm weather, why not relax on the sun terrace or take a stroll down to the private beach? Each guest room comes with air conditioning and Satellite TV. Hotel Posta features a private car park and 2 meeting rooms.

We spent one night in the hotel as part of a school group. The staff was exceedingly helpful and kind. The room was clean and the bedding (including pillows) very comfortable. We had the best cappuccino of the trip in this hotel. They set up a little separate breakfast area for the chaperones and brought us a lovely selection. The problem was that our students were in the larger breakfast room and were not offered yogurt, cereal or the meat and cheese plate. They did not know what to expect, so they did not ask. If we knew, we would have intervened. They were just offered pastries. If not for that, I would have given the hotel 5 stars.

Response from HotelPosta Palermo, Proprietario at Hotel Posta
Responded 3 weeks ago
Dear, thank you for choosing our hotel and enjoying your stay, as well as the service and breakfast. We are sorry that some member of your group has reported not having received the complete breakfast, we are sure that we have asked everyone, and even several times, if they would have liked further additions. We do it with all our guests, so we are a little amazed and also sorry for what happened. However, we look forward to having you again among our best customers.

great location....walking distance to most of the sites and close to oodles of restaurants and shops....and tremendous staff - very helpful and can't do enough for you...the breakfast/bar area is a trip back in time....the room didn't have a mini-fridge and the shower stall is tiny....but the beds were comfy and the rest of the washroom was spacious....we found it very good value and would return...if you are looking for modern, this is not the place....if you like old school and friendly staff - then you will like the Hotel Posta

Various very good aspects: Decent sized room , good beds, good towels changed every day, plenty hot water, Juliet balcony excellent staff team who can't do enough to be helpful, plentiful breakfast served till 11 am ( but not cooked so don't choose if you can't live without ) Also very well placed for buses and access to newer and older town and not far to the marina Things to improve...the shower cabinet was very small and needed TLC or replacement and the internal sound proofing isn't great Very good value

The staff at this hotel are excellent. The front desk was welcoming and gave us good suggestions of how to visit Palermo. The location is in the historic center and you can walk to everything. So many restaurants to choose from! Our room was an interior one with very little natural light - suggest trying to get an exterior room. Bed was comfortable and pillows were not flat like at other hotels. Large bathroom with small shower and low water pressure. Air con and wifi worked great. English channels on TV. The room was generally quiet - no street noise but we did hear our neighbours sometimes. Breakfast is served to you at your table. The service is very friendly and attentive. There are croissants and buns and a fruit plate on the table and they bring you a plate of meat and cheese. Excellent cappucinos! Note we walked to the hotel from the train station - it would have been easier to take city bus 101 or 102 instead.

Location, location, location. A short walk to main areas. The hotel is fabulous. It is clean and comfortable. The breakfast is great. The entire staff are friendly and accommodating. The owner, Nicola, is always there making sure everything is running smoothly. If we return to Palermo, we will definitely stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel.

We loved the area, the room was good, the breakfast far better than I would expect from a property that size...great espresso! The staff were nice, we stayed at this 2* hotel along with another three 4* hotels during our holiday, Hotel Posta equalled the satisfaction we had from the others.

We booked the hotel based on the pics we saw online and it's location. It's located on a side road off Via Roma which lacks ambience but as a central position to get to everything it's really very good. The owner and staff were excellent. Although we don't speak Italian and the staff speak limited English, the owner speaks good English and we managed to understand each other well. The hotel is very well run and breakfast was good. Our room didn't look out on to anything at all and I suspect most rooms don't. The room didn't quite look as good as other pictures I've seen but it was very spacious with a good sized bathroom, and very effective air conditioning, which was a blessing when we returned from the heat of the day in Palermo. Really enjoyed our stay at the Posta and would happily stay there again.

First time in Sicily for us. We arrived at 1 in the morning. The flight was 3 hours late. Got a great welcome. Looked after us and made us feel very welcome after a long day. Great location in the heart of the city. The rooms were excellent. Clean and spacious. Breakfast was very good and the staff help you get the day off to a good start. When we return to Sicily we will stay here again. Brilliant value. Close to everything. The staff organised transport for us to and from the airport and the drivers were also very pleasant and helpful. You'll have a great time here.

Staying at Hotel Posta was like stepping into the heart of Sicily. Off a main road and into a winding back street, this quaint building disguised between the stone walls was a delight, with the friendly staff, great breakfast and roof top terrace overlooking the city and the mountains in the distance. We enjoyed our stay so very much. Local food a stone's throw away and lots of places to have Palermo specialities during the day.

The hotel is in a good location. Our room was large, along with the bathroom. Strangely there was no surface space to put your things in the bathroom, despite all the space! The air-conditioning worked well... Although maybe due to the works going on outside, it seemed to spit out bits of rubbish. The scaffolding outside is presumably temporary: it was a little odd to open the curtains and find a workman on your balcony! Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Despite the central location, it was quiet at night.
