Bastione Spasimo is a local monument located in Piazza Magione - Palermo recently renovated and converted into luxury tourist accommodation. Built in 1536 and designed to defend the city from enemy invasions, the Bastione dello Spasimo, over the centuries, has been used as a foundation for different purposes, including a spice warehouse and a Sicilian cart factory. The structure has many luxury private rooms: some of them are positioned on the ground floor carved into the stone inside the same Bastione, and some others are located on the first floor of the building built in the early 1900s with a splendid view. Each apartment is unique with its own identity, finely furnished and equipped, including a Nespresso Coffee Machine, a kettle, a mini-fridge, a tv, and a safe box. In addition to high-quality towels and sheets, the products of the Nuxe bathroom line will be provided free of charge.
We had an amazing time at Bastione Spasimo! The hotel is very unique and close to a lot of historical sites and places to eat. The hotel itself was very clean and the staff were very helpful and courteous. They even went so far as to pack us breakfast for flight early in the morning. I would highly recommend!

A real gem of a hotel in the very best part of Palermo to stay in . Close to all the best Restaurants and Sight seeing activities. Matteo and his team Giulia and Siriana really know how to look after you. Nothing is too much trouble, and it really does feel like a home from home. The garden is beautifully maintained, and the swimming pool is a real plus after a hot day trekking around the sights. I had a lovely bedroom on the 1st floor with a lovely view of the pool and garden. The beds are comfy, and the shower room is a real Wow factor. Thank you for a most relaxing stay and thank you Sicily...such a lovely place and kind people.

We cannot say enough good things about Batione Spasimo! Very cool, intimate location w a nice pool/yard, well-maintained facilities and stellar guest service. From directions to recco's to just making us feel at home, the folks at Bastione Spasimo -and Syriana in particular- were simply outstanding. Great access to local restaurants as well!

From start to finish, this was a fantastic place to stay. The hotel contacted us via whatsapp prior to our arrival with clear video instructions on locating and entering the hotel building (we were arriving late at night) They also arranged an airport transfer for us and even recommended a restaurant nearby that would be open late that night! Our room (room 6) was very nice with clean modern fittings that contrasted nicely with the old stone building. We met Siriana the following morning at reception and she patiently went through the city map with us and marked many places of interest as well as some nice dining options. By the end of day one we had our bearings and realised that the hotel is ideally located close to the city centre and marina with plenty of nice bars, restaurants, and cafes nearby too. The guys at reception were so friendly, always on hand to help, and they made a couple of dinner reservations for us in local restaurants which was much appreciated. We found the area beside the hotel (and the city itself) to be very safe to walk around and explore, day or night. A big bonus was having the pool to cool off in after a hot day's walking around the city! As first time visitors we weren't sure what to expect but Palermo is a great, great city with lots to see, do and experience. We had a fantastic few days in Palermo and a very pleasant stay here. We will definitely return to Palermo again and to the Bastione Spasimo Hotel. Grazie mille Siriana, Giuliana and staff.…

Fantastic hotel, excellent and friendly service. Matteo, Siri and Julian are welcoming, friendly and always willing to help. The rooms are modern and very clean. The pool is brilliant and essential for cooling during hot weather. Breakfast is perfect. Matteo was especially helpful in organising transport to the airport on the day of extensive fires and the airport was closed until 11am.

Even better than it looks on the web this hotel is an absolute oasis of beauty in a busy bustling city. The staff were delightful and super friendly helping us with transport arrangements and reservations for dinner. The breakfast was delicious and the garden with the pool just delightful. Would return in a heartbeat. Special thanks to Siri!

This is a beautiful and well appointed hotel. Within the old town , but behind an innocuous front is a pretty garden and great place to relax enjoy tea, swim after seeing the wonderful sites in Palermo. The rooms are modern well designed with a well appointed luxurious bathroom) . Our room had a view of an old building , but there are some other rooms that have more interesting vistas ,but overall the fantastic breakfasts and lastly the incredibly helpful and attentive staff would make me definitely book again without question.

We are just waiting to leave this wonderful hotel after a weeks stay. It is everything and more that you can read on the previous reviews. We were greeted by Siri , one of the lovely receptionist, who had waited up for us as our flight was delayed. She was very helpful, showing us to our ground floor garden room No.6. The room is small but has everything you need. The bathroom was very modern, there was a good hairdryer with plug near the mirror. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion were provided plus lovely towels. My only criticism would be lack of drawers- a few nights stay this wouldn’t be an issue but we were here a week and I prefer to unpack Breakfast is continental although scrambled eggs were available but I only found that out on the last day! The pool and gardens are a treat after exploring the city which is just outside the garden gates. Lots of restaurants are nearby as are the train station- if you want to explore Palermo on foot this is the perfect spot…
