We needed a place to stay close to the Foro Italico Park (both parkrunners) and this is ideal. Did not arrive until late Friday night and contacted in advance and they were very accommodating. Room was well furnished with the usual facilities. Parking on site which is a great plus. If coming to Palermo again would use and would also recommend using lift as stairs very tight but that was our own stupid fault

Six of us booked here at the start of an eleven day cycle trip around the island. I had checked previously to see whether the hotel could store our bike boxes while we were cycling, as we planned to spend our last two nights at the hotel and see Palermo. The hotel happily provided us with storage and one room with a large balcony where we re-assembled and dismantled the bikes with ease. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean and the breakfast, though limited was sufficient to get us on our way. Prices at the bar were surprisingly low and I would recommend having your nightcap there rather than out on the street somewhere. The exterior, at first, appeared down-at-the-heels, but then so did everywhere else in the inner city. In the hotel, we found the establishment well-appointed in a traditional sense, the decor dating back to the early 1900s, I'd guess, but very pleasant. I will be returning to Sicily to cycle the parts I missed, and plan to stay at this hotel again.

The rooms are simple but clean and with all the basic comforts. The whole place was clean and the staff was always available when we asked for something. My wife is always concerned about mosquitoes when we travel in Italy, and the guy at the reception immediately offered to spray the room, which my wife greatly appreciated (I will never know if mosquitoes really are an issue in that hotel but the spraying seemed to work). The WIFI only works in the lobby, but the lobby is comfortable and right next to the bar.

CONTEXT: a one-week driving tour of Sicily, one-night stay in Palermo. PROS: The biggest is the car park, in a city where parking or driving is not an easy task. Location: within easy walking distance of the city centre and eateries. Staff: very pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable and had a balcony on which to sit. You can arrange to remove breakfast from the deal if you wish. CONS: Hard to think of any. This establishment does what it says on the box. If you want to park at your hotel without paying for a more expensive venue, then this is a good choice.

We stayed here for a couple of nights and at first was greeted by a very friendly man (tall with glasses and always smiling). He was attentive to our questions and proactively looked to help out where possible. Unfortunately his good work was ruined by a bald shorter old man who I assume spends most of his spare time yelling at the local hookers to get off his front lawn whilst shaking his fist. This bald man was frustrating to deal. We simply asked if we could print our boarding pass and he showed a lack of enthusiasm to help and demonstrated poor communication when the printer wasn't working. Furthermore when he finally printed, took so long possibly due to him counting down the days to Christmas where he gets to play his favourite character the Grinch, he demanded we pay. This is fine but a little bit of advice for good customer service, tell the customer before hand so they have full disclosure of your service. I mean surely the local hookers who visit this hotel would be better at disclosing prices. Please note that the first guy demonstrated outstanding service, just unfortunately ruined by the bald man going through menopause. Anyway enough about the bad service, the hotel is finely located for local hookering and the rooms are in great condition for housing them. I don't recommend in hindsight, there are better and cheaper alternatives north of this hotel.

Once again I suggested this hotel to a visitor of my university (I live in Palermo, thus I have never been a guest of the hotel). As usual, I asked my guest how was his room and he was thoroghly satisfied. The staff was friendly and efficient, the room comfortable and clean, the price convenient and the position strategic. I will suggest this hotel to my guests and friends.

I stayed here in November 2014 (and have stayed here often prior to that) to visit colleagues at the University of Palermo. This hotel provides great accommodation and is very conveniently situated. From the hotel one can easily access part of the university, both the train and bus stations, the sea and the botanical gardens. My room and bathroom were large and clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was typical Italian and the staff super friendly and helpful. I will stay at this gem in Palermo again.

What a find! A neat clean commodious small hotel, close to the city center, with free off-street parking! Friendly helpful staff, a very adequate breakfast, a modern elevator for us oldies with heavy bags, and a quiet comfortable, well-equipped room on level 3 overlooking the botanical gardens at a reasonable price. Would choose Villa Archirafi again in preference to fancier Palermo hotels.

This was the only hotel we could find from our Sicily book with a vacancy in an emergency, We approached it with a bit of trepidation because of its 2* rating. In fact it is perfectly clean, our room was large as was the bathroom and the shower, although a tiny capsule, was hot with copious water. It has good air conditioning, a small terrace and parking in its front courtyard. The staff were very helpful and access is flat and easy. We were directed to a good restaurant for dinner. In house breakfast was basic. The lift is small but effective. We discovered in the morning that our room had only one towel which we shared. No wifi in the room but neither did the 4* hotel we moved to although they advertised that they did. In fact it was equal to some of the Italian 4* hotels we have stayed at. In Italy, 4* = 2 to 3 in the rest of Europe and the USA. At 80 Euros for the night incl. breakfast and parking, it was excellent.
