A 3-Star Hotel with five star staff! Very helpful and welcoming. Located close to both street markets and chic shopping, the rooms were modern, clean and the AC worked very well. Very nice breakfast with homemade Gluten-free options (advise in advance). Lastly, their restaurant, Sapori Perduti, about a five minute walk from the hotel, was very good with plenty of Gluten-free options and nice wine list.
I am considering returning to Palermo just to spend some more time at the Alma Hotel. All of these 5-star reviews are absolutely deserved! As some background, I have Muscular Dystrophy and use a walker due to reduced mobility. My friends left me with a ton of luggage because I was returning to my home in Bologna by car. Like multiple heavy bottles of Sicilian wine. I knew that there was no way I could transport any of this by myself, so I started contacting hotels to see what my options were. People were pretty rude or unhelpful, until I found Alma Hotel. Michele and Noemi responded to my emails within minutes and assured me that they would be able to help. It is hard to put my relief into adequate words. When I arrived, Antonella, Paolo, and their staff went out of their way to welcome and assist me. I have been to more than 45 countries and have never experienced anything even close to this level of customer service. I legit almost cried. The location is great, the room is spotless, the Wifi was good enough for my work meeting, the bed was comfortable, and I didn't hear any noise the entire night. I can assure you that you will not find anything better. And after trying Antonella's breakfast cakes, you will never again be satisfied with another hotel breakfast with those nasty chemical eggs. If you are reading this review, please book this hotel immediately. Going anywhere else would be a waste of time and the biggest mistake of your life.…
Our first stop on a trip through Italy. Will definitely go back and stay longer. Very clean, top notch customer service, Wonderful breakfast! So happy we relied on trip advisor reviews when choosing. It was around the corner from all the shops, bars and restaurants. Perfect location.
I stayed at the hotel 5 nights. The reception is not open 24/7, and I have arrived after midnight - the key was left for me in a safe, and clear instructions were sent to me in advance. Smooth and easy. It is a small hotel in a great location, very clean, great shower, nice breakfast. The minibar in the room is free! Above all, service was exceptional - always responsive, always nice and friendly, always willing to help. An example for excellence in accommodating.
We stayed here in end of May. The hotel is in a great location, near to Teatro Massimo, the Four Corners, the fish markets, good restaurants and more. The rooms are very clean and comfy and well air conditioned and the breakfast was wonderful. But by far, the star here was the staff and owners. they made us feel like family the moment we arrived and always had a smile. As an added bonus, the owners also own a great restaurant Sapori Perduti ... short walk from the hotel and no to be missed.
Second visit and just as happy as the first time. Wonderful staff…really wonderful. Welcoming and happy to help with every detail. Great, comfortable, modern rooms. Great breakfast. Fabulous location.
We stayed two nights last month and found the Alma Hotel to be the perfect spot for exploring Palermo. We booked a suite and found it to be spacious, modern, and well equipped. The air conditioning worked well and the bed was very comfortable. The staff is so friendly and were there for everything we needed. They quickly reply to emails and offer great suggestions. The highlight of every morning were the many fresh baked cakes made by one of the owners. They were all delicious and a nice way to start the day. We'll be back.
Our rooms were large and bathrooms spacious and extra clean. As stated by many previous reviewers the breakfast is to die for. Fresh cakes every day thanks to Antonella and she and Paolo and all their staff are a pleasure to know. IF we ever venture back to Sicily this will be our first stop! The 4 Canadians!!
We were completely happy with our first stay at Alma Hotel. Our room was tastefully modern, with an excellent bed and (for once!) real pillows (quality polyfoam, not the lame feather pillows that provide zero support). The bath was recently renovated with a high tech multi head shower unit. The breakfasts were delicious, with home-made cakes, yoghurt, cereal, fresh fruit, sliced meat and cheese, and very good Expresso drinks. The staff were warm, welcoming and always helpful when special requests were made. Their English was excellent and they put up with our questionable Italian. We'd stay here again.
Well, of all tese excellent reviews I expected more and to call it a boutique hotel -hmm. The hotel is located at the third floor( reception and breakfast area) and our room was at the sixth floor. Our room with balcony overlooking a busy street was nice but to the smaller side with hardly any room for the luggage . Bathroom was fine and the bed excellent and there was a free minibar with water and softdrinks and facilities for making coffee. The breakfast area rather small but good and it was the only hotel in Sicily throughout our two weeks that we had to wear plastic gloves for breakfast. The first morning some tables were reserved for other guests -which I found very strange. There was a lot of sweet things at the buffet, but not so many other choices. The staff was nice but constantly spoke English to us allthough we can make us understable in italian. Location is great - very close to restaurants and center.…
