very large rooms, with ethnic furnishings, it's near to the centre of city, to the port and to Puccineria. perfect location for a tour of the city. The breakfast is at the bar, in front of the hotel, tipically italian breakfast.

We stayed here in October for two nights. We arrived at around 9 pm and a very nice lady who was working at the restaurant across from the B&B provided us with the key and some information. Our room faced the piazza and it is quite loud until 11 pm which is when the restaurants close. The next morning the owner was there for a few hours and we had breakfast (basic but good) and did our official check-in. Keep in mind we were without wifi all that time. Speaking of, the wifi is spotty at best. Our room was large as it had two sitting areas and then the bed up on the mezzanine where we could not get wifi. We had to be in the first living room in order to use it. Then I'm not sure if the owner turned the wifi off or not because in the evening when we came back, it was spotty to non-existent. The room as I mentioned was quite spacious but what weird was we hung out towels up on the hooks after using them. When we returned that night, then had been re-folded! Not sure why someone would re-fold a towel that was used! We were allowed to leave our bags there when we checked out as our train was later that day. The owner provided us with a key. However keep in mind it's a quite a climb and unfortunately it would have been nice if the owner had offered to help us with our bags as he saw us struggling! Oh well...! It's a basic stay here and it's not super close to anything so I'd suggest selecting a hotel that's a bit closer to or on the main street.

We retrieved the key from the very personable host at the restaurant in front of the hotel. We parked our car in the piazza out back and yes, we paid 5 Euros a day to an 'attendant' who patrolled this plot of land. These entrepreneurs are everywhere in Palermo. There are free parking spots close to the waterfront but still, we were accosted by men asking a small fee for safeguarding our car. I suppose that we could have told them to buzz-off but our Italian isn't up to par. We were in the 'Grecale' room which faces the piazza and a park. The space is divided in two rooms; one sitting-room with a sofa-bed, bathroom, closet and bar-fridge and the bedroom with a table, chairs and the bed set up on a mezzanine. The steps to the mezzanine were narrow and steep. A word to the wise; running down these steps at night for the bathroom might be quite dangerous. Oh, the toilet seat was broken off... Breakfast was fine; coffee, juices, choice of 2 kinds of fresh fruit, bread, cakes, croissants and jam. There are a number of eateries, restaurants, cafés, clubs on via Bottai and across via Vittorio Emmanuele so there is a lot of ambiance at night. Relax, join in and enjoy.

There was problems with lighting in bathroom. Find some black hair in bathroom and bedclothes. At night EXTREMELY noisy, because of bars and restaurants around. And I could not believe it - at the time of breakfast (8:00) there was no breakfast! There was nothing on tables and nobody around! We left this place very disappointed (at 8:15) and there was still no one around...

Nice place to stay with a good location in the charming part of Palermo with narrow winding streets. Friendly staff, the room was ok, although we expected to have larger balcony. Checked in late in the evening, found the staff in the restaurant next door to the hotel.

No one on hand to let you in, key left in post box. No one around on our last morning. So no one to serve breakfast, until lovely cleaning lady arrived to help us get breakfast. She had to call someone for us to find out how we were to pay snd check out.Wi fi not working. No fridge in room. Had to pay to park. Despite all this, rooms very clean. Breakfast on our first day was good. Location perfect to explore city. If you need any help ask the people in the restaurant next door.

great location, comfortable, clean, great price. The staff aren't always around, so you may need to go into the kitchen next door to let them know once you have arrived! For drinks (bottled water), there is a supermarket around the corner, as there is a fridge in the room but it is empty.

I arrived at 4pm to the street door locked and no one would answer the bell. I waited and waited. I had the phone number but my phone doesn't work in Italy. Finally staff from the restaurant across the street came over, reached into the mail box and handed me keys. Why didn't the hotel tell me that's how I get IN?! That was not fun. the shower worked well and the bed is comfortable but the furnishings are not very nice. Be warned: there is no staff except at breakfast. You are on your own.

Well located, well equipped, clean, fast wifi internet with an excellent and friendly service The only negative side is that the location is quite noisy as there are bars and restaurants right under your windows. Therefore if you are looking for a quiet place you should look for something else.

We stayed here two nights in Maestrala, a room facing the Garibaldi Public Gardens and enjoyed it. The room, including the bathroom was very spacious, quiet, had a view of the Gardens and the huge ficus treees. The served breakfast was good and served by a charming Cuban immigrant. Because we enjoyed this stay so much on our return pass through Palermo we stayed here again. Maestrala was not occupied, but hadn't been cleaned so we were assigned Libeccio, a room which faces the front street. There was a political rally/concert at the end of the street that night and was extremely loud and our window did not close all the way. This room was smaller and the small bathroom had a mildew odor. Ratings are an average of the two experiences. I'd rate Maestrala as very good to excellent; Libeccio was poor to terrible.
