You can't go wrong with this Bed & breakfast! I travelled there in late august with a friend and we loved it! The rooms are large, the balcony is a good size, the price is MUCH cheaper than the other hotels in the area - and you're right in the center of everything ! It was a very safe area...

This B&B is a gem! The high-ceiling-ed rooms and bathrooms are spacious (although shower alcove smallish), spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There is free WiFi and free internet access for guests at a PC point. It is located in a great spot, about a 10 minute walk from a bunch of places including the train station, the Accademia (Statue of...

We got a last minute discount, so this B&B was really worth. The elevator scares a little bit, but it works (if you are too scared, it's in the 2nd floor). Free wi-fi, wide and comfortable rooms, good breakfast. It's a B&B, so you don't have room service or reception desk, but the owner was very attencious when he's there....

If you are a light sleeper, I don't recommend staying here. The Piazza della Repubblica has stall holders who pack up late at night and set up again around 5am also, there is a road sweeper than runs all hours. On the week-ends things don't settle down until after 1am. For one night, it may be OK but we stayed...

Excellent location, very good sized rooms, excellent in-room facilities and Mario and his staff couldn't be more amenable and friendly. Right in the heart of the sights but a haven when the crowds get too much. Some friends stayed just around the corner and paid almost twice the price for a similar room. The rooms were large and very clean,...

We came to the B&B Repubblica after my mother raved about it, and told us we had to stay here when we told her we were going to Florence! It is in the perfect location, overlooking the Piazza della Repubblica, and about 30 seconds around the corner from the famous Duomo! Although it has plenty of entertainment in the evenings...

BB Republica is ideally situated for seeing Florence. You step out of the door straight onto the Piazza della Repubblica in the heart of the city. Mario was extremely helpful and catered for everything we needed. The room was excellent and we had a small balcony which opened out overlooking Via Calimala. We were able to leave our luggage there...

All in all, a great place to stay. Bring your earplugs because you are in the heart of Florence, right where you want to be to access all the great attractions and restaurants. (I hear room #6 is the quietest.) Mario will take care of all your needs. A modern in-room bath and nice bed.

The rooms were clean and spacious. Good value for the money. Right on Piazza Repubblica. I know some people may be bothered by the noise of the piazza, but it didn’t bother us at all. Mario, the owner, met us in the piazza and gave us they keys to the building, the B&B, and the room. He helped us settle...

This B & B is recommended for more than the great price (80euro/nt) and location (walk to everything!). The clean and spacious room had all the amenities we needed---A/C; refrigerator; great view of Orsanmichele church; very comfy bed. We did not need to use the bed upstairs in the loft, but what a nice room this would have been for...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
