We got the Orange room at BBH. Nicely decorated, a comfortable bed, very nice and quiet private atmosphere and Silvia's warm welcome and helpful advice made our stay in Florence memorable. Excellent location very close to the train station and car rentals, plenty of trattorias nearby. A warning note; first floor, no lift.

This is the perfect place to stay if you want to visit Florence but don't want to pay the prices all the hotels tend to charge. Only 5 minutes walk from the train station and within 10 minutes walk you are at the Duomo, 5 minutes to the river, no matter which way you go, it's a perfect location! Furthermore,...

I can recommend this b&b to everyone wants a good stay in Florence. High quality b&b, it seems to be in a four stars Italian hotel but at lower price. Good cleaning, friendly and helpful staff, good location. It missed only the breakfast.

The BBH is located within walking minutes from the train station and all the sites of Florence, but still in a quiet street. Due to the construction of the house, the room's window (we had the orange room) opened into a small inner court. This has the advantage that the room was dark and quiet at night (as long as...

BBH is very centrally located, just a quick walk to the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, or pretty much anything you want to see. It's not air-conditioned, so Silvia made sure we had a fan to keep us cool. She even lent us towels to take on a trip to the beach. BBH is more like a very nice hostel than a...

BBH Firenze was the best accomodation we could have imagined for our family trip to Florence. Great rooms, perfect location, close to the centre but still calm. And Sylvia is a very friendly and helpful host!

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
