Loved our stay at this hotel. Top notch customer service, charming courtyard and such rich history. Location couldn't be better either, a quick walk to train station and equally convenient to all the must-see sights. Thanks for helping to make our trip even more memorable!

This beautiful centrally located hotel in the most beautiful city on earth was a pleasure to stay in! Delicious breakfast and friendly service! Amazing miniature Christmas exhibition for charity! Close to station and walking distance to the great Il Duomo! Tuscan Soup is delicious! Would love to revisit soon!

We stayed at the Rivoli Hotel for one night as a stopover between Zermatt and Rome. What a delightful hotel. Friendly, professional staff, wonderful ambience and a lovely room in a fascinating old building. Great value for money and would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Rivoli. We booked a superior room which was very roomy. The staff was very helpful, the breakfast good and we appreciated the complimentary water and fruit. The location was good, right near the train station and Santa Maria Novella - easy to walk to the main attractions in Florence. Wifi was spotty but it...

The hotel has charming public facilities and restaurant, but gets brought down on rooms and staff. The room we were assigned had a moderate bedroom but a totally inadequate bathroom with a shower stall which measured approximately 2 feet square. It was very difficult for two people, even one at a time. I had asked staff a question which needed...

The Rivoli Hotel has a neat history behind it as it was previously a convent. It is beautifully decorated and has several places that you can go and just sit in quiet and enjoy. One of which is the outside terrace. Although we had cool temperatures in the a.m. the afternoon was nice for a glass of wine. It is...

Everyone there was really nice and helpful, the breakfast buffet was good and more extensive than expected, and the location was perfect! We were unsure about the room and they showed us another one and let us choose between the two, most places wouldn't do that. I would definitely go back there again!

Found ourselves unexpectedly without a place to stay so had to book very last minute. Very helpful staff got us a lovely balcony room. Lots of nice touches like the little bag of toiletries in the bathroom - sometimes small things really do create a positive impression. The location is excellent - very close to the train station, and easy...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located in the old town of Florence, the Rivoli Boutique Hotel offers class hospitality with charm, as well as spacious and elegantly decorated hotel rooms and suites. The Rivoli Boutique Hotel is a 4-star superior hotel that is set inside a restored 14th-century Franciscan convent, where guests can breath the charming and unique atmosphere of this ancient historic building in the city of Florence. The restoration has highlighted the architectural details dating back to 1500 such as arches and vaults, coffered ceilings and stone columns. Guests are welcomed in an enchanting setting full of cozy atmosphere, embellished by refined common areas, which are conceived as an oasis of tranquility away from the hectic pace of the city. The Internal Patio, which was obtained from a complete renovation of the Franciscan cloister, is now dedicated to relaxation and wellbeing, featuring an unforgettable 20 sqm-whirlpool that is also open during the winter with a constant water temperature of 36° C. The location could not be better, a few steps from the Santa Maria Novella railway station, the Duomo Cathedral, Ponte Vecchio Bridge, opposite the ancient and famous Officina Profumo di Santa Maria Novella, and the most important museums. In addition to the interior elegant and spacious patio, the Rivoli Boutique Hotel guests can enjoy the quiteness of the small "garden of medlar", an exceptional lounge where to spend moments of real relax; in summer time the garden is available for breakfast and dinners prepared and served by Benedicta Restaurant , 3 Michelin forks. ... more   less
