Beautiful historical place with a great garden, lots of old charm. Staff were super friendly and the rooms were very clean. We liked the location as it was within walking distance of almost every historical place we wanted to visit. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

The hotel is actually an old monistary and is beautiful inside with its many small rooms. We were actually put at the top of the grand staircase in a small room. There are no elevators but a lot of stairs ! The hotel as a place was not bad , of course a bit on the old side, but then...

I am very torn with giving this hotel 3 stars. The proximity to everything in Florence is perfect. The staff is great. The common rooms and outside gardens are beautiful. The hotel was a palace built around 1500. The current family has owned it for quite a while and has a lot of original art. The reason I give it...

The hotel is in a great position for walking to all the sights in Florence. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the hotel is classic Italian in style. There is a lovely internal garden, full of plants and flowers, great to sit in and enjoy a drink both before and after dinner. As the hotel is in a...

Classic old Italian hotel in a central location. Pleasant breakfast room. Very helpful staff who answered questions and made museum reservations for us. Pretty garden, inviting small bar, paintings and sculptures throughout. Comfortable room. We easily walked to all of the tourist spots. Many options for great meals nearby.

A neat hotel with real "back in time" feeling. The room is extremely high and cozy. Feels like you are in old Firenze. The breakfast is just continental but delicious. The bathroom a bit moldy (adds to the feeling". We had a jacuzzi bath tub, though I am a shower guy so have not used it. Furniture is old but...

The Monna Lisa offers a great location for exploring central Florence. Our room however was more shabby than chic. certainly a hotel with history and an abundance of antiques and quirky nooks and crannies. The staff were very friendly (in particular Erica on reception). The gardens were a pleasant place to enjoy coffee and drinks and were at the center...

We chose Hotel Monna Lisa for its historic character and location. We were not disappointed! The entrance spoke old world charm. Our room had balcony overlooking the gardens. Room and bath was cozy but comfortable and met all of our needs. Excellent staff, always available to assist. We enjoyed the breakfast with pastries, cafe, juice plus various meats, cheeses and...

We booked a family trip in Feb 17 to Florence for four nights for three double bedrooms. Sadly all three were very dirty. The lady manager was sadly sarcastic when we asked to move our rooms (as the brochure of course only showed the new fresh clean modern rooms). Alitalia who we booked through only offered £50 voucher compensation if...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
