The Hotel Pendini (formerly a historic Pensione) is located right on the Piazza della Republicca, one of Florence's major meeting places, although technically it's in a side street leading to the square. The entrance is unimpressive and could easily be missed and the reception area is on the 4th (top) floor where the lounges and breakfast rooms are located. This...

Loved this hotel. It was so clean, and very beautiful with small rooms but great beds with good crisp white sheets and a great air conditioner. The breakfast staff was wonderful and so helpful but the reception staff was a bit frosty!

This is an exquisite hotel and beautifully decorated to keep hotel modern but with a nod to olde world charm. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in Italy. All types of croissants, Brie cheese, salami, bread, cereals, granola, eggs and bacon and pastries. Always full and nothing ran out. The breakfast staff member was so lovely and...

We are stopping in this hotel for one more night and it is very nice, centrally located, la duomo is just around the corner, as is the Ponti vieccho. Breakfast is both cooked and continental, in an adequately sized dining room, and the bedrooms themselves are functional, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean as is all of the hotel. An ideal...

Me and my boyfriend stayed in Hotel Pendini in Florence and loved it! It is a historic hotel that has been around for centuries and has just had a new re-vamp and renovation. We stayed on the second floor which was just recently completed and the amenities and décor is impeccable. Our room was stunning with an antechamber, a living...

This is a very nice property which I would recommend for anyone looking for a very centrally located option in Florence. The rooms are well sized, as are the bathrooms (which is not always the case in old European hotels!) This hotel is nicely updated, don't expect MODERN accommodations, but things are nicely done and in good condition. Our bed...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
