Returning to the Pendini after several years, we found it refreshed with a touch more elegance but as reliable and convenient as ever. We have sent friends and family here repeatedly but had ourselves stayed in a couple other hotels on recent visits. Well, we're back and glad of it. Just can't beat it! Btw, if you are ever able...

This hotel is located in the centre of Florence and easy walking distance to all the major tourist attractions. We booked a two room suite with one bathroom for our group of five ladies. The rooms were both large with plenty of room to spread out as was the bathroom. Our room was located in a quiet part of the...

This hotel is located in a lovely piazza and is within easy walking distance to many of Florence's attractions. The room was spotless. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. The complimentary breakfast was unbelievable - delicious croissants, muffins, eggs, fruit etc. American coffee is available but just ask your waiter for an espresso or cappuccino (both...

Our family of five stayed here and had an excellent stay! We were in a two room suite and it was huge! The staff was great directing us to some non- touristy places to eat. We arrived before check in and they held our bags. We also left after check out and they again held our bags. The location was...

A nice hotel but a great location. Truly walking distance to everything you must see in Florence. The piazza eateries were all good, gelato everywhere, wine even better, and the site seeing spectacular. However, I must say after walking up 414 steps to the top of the tower, besides being very small crowded passageways, the effort doesn't justify the climb....

I ordered a family room and it was nice enough. Lovely sheets and great shower compared to the rest of Italy. I found the staff at reception a little unfriendly however. Upon our departure, the guy at the desk just watched us carry 7 pieces of luggage (with great difficulty) without calling the bell boy. I would have thought, being...

Hotel Pendini was a perfect homebase for my mom, two adult sisters and myself in Florence last week! It's central location was great for shopping and sightseeing. We booked a quad room with twin beds so were slightly dreading having four beds in one room but were pleasantly surprised to find two separate rooms with a central shared bathroom. The...

This a beautiful hotel that is centrally located. Rooms are well appointed and very clean. However, don't get a room facing the square unless you don't want to sleep. A lovely, elegant hotel, located in the heart of Florence right off the Piazza de Republica. The Duomo was just a few blocks one way, a great leather market the other and the Ponte Vecchio Bridge very close by - all within walking distance. Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
