I was coming from Venice, where I had excellent days and stayied at Calzaiuoli because I liked the location. Surprisely, although it was reasonable clean (average), it does not have a place to spend some good time with your wife or friends (like an open bar or at least a confortable hall). The stuff are really not friendly and you...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in September 2009. We got an incredible rate on the room by booking through the hotel website, so before we even got there I was a happy customer. The hotel is centrally located to all the major cultural attractions in Florance is is located on one of the main pedestrian streets...

Spent 5 days in Florence, with Calzaiuoli Hotel as our base. Central to everything, excellent room, very friendly staff. Maintenance slow (bathroom ceiling light bulb which we reported burned out on Monday was still not replaced by Friday). Wifi cost 15 euro for 5 hours, and was down for 2+ days, but staff quickly refunded our money. Housekeeping could be...

Stayed here in late October for a girlfriend getaway weekend. Hotel is in a prime location, right in the center of the main pedestrian area in Florence. Just down the street from everything- the Duomo, Accademia, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio...anything you would want to see you can walk to. Had an issue with a lost camera and the front desk was...

We absolutely loved the central location of this hotel. We could throw open our windows and hear the music from the Piazza Republica watch the street scenes from our window. It was a nice size room and very plush. Nice bathroom, shower only. The staff was very nice, although typically European in demeanor. The breakfast was wonderful and included in...

Absolutely charming hotel in the very best location you could get in Florence. About half way between the Duomo and Plaza Della Signoia on the main shopping avenue (Calzaiuoli). Since Florence is a "walking" city, it is ideally located in a high-end part of town and makes everything available within a 15 minute walk. Although the shopping district is bustling...

We loved our stay in Florence at this hotel! The location was great, between the Duomo and the Centre Square. The activity on the street, the life, the restaurants, the shops, all fantastic. Our room overlooked the street, you could open the windows and enjoy the sounds of Florence! But, when you closed the windows, it was silent and relaxing....

We just got back from Florence and we stayed at the Calzaiuoli Hotel. The Hotel is right in the center of things. It is extremely close to the Duome, Accademia (David), and Uffizy. Everything is within walking distance. The hotel is small but very charming. I am very interested in the cleanliness of Hotels when we travel and this hotel...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
