It was an absolute delight staying in the hotel. The staff including Mariah and Sara were very helpful. The rooms were clean and fitted with all amenities. The bathroom was small but manageable and clean. The wifi was superb. The location was great- just 200 m from the station. The breakfast was filling and there was a decent spread. All...

Ideal location for city center but for business travelers no. Internet very pool bathroom very small bed very hard. The air conditioning was switched off because of autumn but it was still hot and too hot to sleep when the windows were opens it was too noisy to sleep. TV only in Italian. This hotel is close to everything, in Florence: Santa Maria Novella Train Station, Central Market, San Lorenzo, Il Duomo, etc. It is literally one street down, around the corner from the Central Market. It is also convenient for walking to Florence's intercity bus terminal on Via Santa Caterina da Siena, across the street, just down from the train station. My...

Conveniently located near to train station, centre and st Lorenzo market. Great for our needs (coming to Florence by train). Basic but clean rooms. Has wifi but connection can be temperamental in evenings. Breakfast basic but perfectly fine. Tv mainly Italian stations only, but wasn't a prob for us as we weren't here to watch tv!

The room was tiny, strange smell everywhere. You have to be a ninja and punch the flush button as hard as you possibly can to get the water flushed down. We stayed there 2 nights and it was cold. The room was colder than outside. The receptionist told us that the heater is not working and there is nothing they...

The rooms are tiny and had a disgusting smell, the bathrooms need to be changed overall, the closet in the room is like a huge box in a tiny room, you can only use the room to sleep in as there is no room to breathe in and you can't stay in the room to relax as it gives you...

We stayed in the hotel Sempione in September 2016. It is not far from the railway station and all the other sights in Florence. The reception staff were so very friendly and welcoming. We also recieved a lovely bottle of Chianti for our birthdays which I thought was a lovely touch. The room was clean and comfortable and we were...

Hotel Sempione is a perfectly good place to stay in Florence - not the fanciest, but solid all around. It's located just a few blocks from the central train station (which is also where the airport shuttle bus drops off and picks up), and is just an easy 5-10 minute walk to the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, etc. We didn't take...

We stayed at this hotel for four nights and it was clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the staff arranged our bookings and recommended some restaurants for dinner. There is a small lounge area with a bar in the lobby where they provided guest with fruit and pastries and complimentary tea and coffee for a quick on the...

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sempione. One reason we chose the hotel other than the good reviews, is its close proximity to the railway station. It's a short walk to the hotel, and we initially headed off in the wrong direction - just make sure you research the location, We stayed in a room on the third floor...

San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections.
