We arrived at this hotel after a long tiring flight. So while walking on foot with our luggage we didn't notice what an amazing location this hotel is actually at. A little building right in the middle of the city. A walking distance from ALL main attractions. A little flight of stairs as you walk in the building and then...

Wow what detail! We probably don't need to say another thing. We certainly hope that you will come back one day; there is no higher compliment than a return visit.

We stayed at the Hotel Alessandra in Florence for 3 days and we definitely fell in love with the hotel and the city. The hotel is located in one of the quiet backstreet s of Florence and basically right in the center. All the major sights (e.g. Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Uffizi Gallery,...

Friendly staff, good value, and location location location. You're one block from the Ponte Vecchio! Added bonus: if you open your window in the morning, you'll wake up to the gentle click-clack of horses going by the side street that this hotel is situated next to. A great hidden gem in the heart of Florence.

This hotel is easy and comfortable while being two street corners away from Ponte Vecchio and is very easy to get to from the Santa Maria Novella train station. You can very easily walk to everything you want to see in the old city, that being said it still manages to be a very quiet hotel. The staff was very...

Hotel Alessandra is on a quiet narrow street close to the center and all the sights of Florence that you would want to see in a few days. The rooms were reminiscent of the building's 500 year old history, high ceilings and ornate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate at all three of the excellent restaurants suggested...

We selected this hotel because of the location, the expected offerings and great reviews (including offered prize). We were not disappointed at all. Everything was better than expected: In the middle of everything, but quiet and relaxing. Excellent "old fashioned" rooms, but with modern details, like renovated bathroom, noise isolating windows (perfect ones!!). Ours was wide and comfortable (20), clean,...

We found this hotel on TripAdvisor and were Not disappointed. The location is great, very near the river. The rooms are spacious compared to most European hotels and the staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. They offered us a welcome drink on the roof terrace when we arrived and gave us great suggestions for places to eat...

Everything is great about this place: spacious room, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast. We will stay there again if we ever return to Florence. The only downside is that you have to walk up a couple of flights of stairs to the elevator but that was not too bad. That's to be expected in many accommodations in this part...

This hotel was fantastic! It was the the best accommodation on our trip to Italy. The gentleman who checked us in was delightful! He was sweet and engaging and the right kind of funny! He also gave a great dinner recommendation to ***Gigi's (cant think of the full name). He always greeted us like we were his best friends and...

We're happy to recommend the Hotel Alessandra as a great place to stay in Florence. Excellent location; friendly and helpful staff; good breakfasts (apple cake especially!); and our room was just what we wanted: we'd asked for a room with a river view, and the view from the room we got (room 26) was delightful - the Arno, and an...

Oh yes! Never have stairs and a small lift been more talked about in the history of the universe! Our aim is that they should never be a surprise for anyone. Unless you have lots of young kids or real mobility issues, the stairs are never normally a problem and allow you justify just one more gelato, which is never...

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our family run hotel is right in the heart of Florence old town - near to the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio. Without doubt, Hotel Alessandra is one of the most centrally located hotels in Florence. In this privileged position, Hotel Alessandra offers a home away from home, with our friendly team and extensive knowledge of the local area. The hotel entrance is situated on the second floor of the building. You can reach the reception floor using the lift, small but working fine (in the 1400s buildings hadn't been designed with this in mind!) But please note that there are around 30 steps from the entrance on the street level to the departure of the lift. We very much look forward to seeing you! Andrea and Anna ... more   less
