First of all, I have to say that this hotel had an excellent location and the receptionist spoke excellent English and gave us some good advice at the beginning, though later he was in a hurry every time he saw us and couldn't get rid of us fast enough. The breakfast was average. The big drawback of this hotel is firstly...

We certainly do have time for everyone and all their questions, as so many reviews here have testified, so we are sorry that we may have appeared short on time with you - we can assure you that was not the case! One of aims in talking all the time about our elevator and stairs, is that they are never...

My husband and I stayed three nights at Hotel Alessandra starting 11/17/16. The hotel is up some stairs, but that is really is no big deal. There is a small elevator mid-way should you need help. You are greeted by a friendly person who is well versed in all things Florence, escorted to your room, and offered a complimentary glass...

The staff of this hotel cannot be commended enough. Everyone there was warm, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The folks at the desk spoke English and were able to recommend restaurants, provide directions, and call for a taxi when we left. Prior to our arrival I had inquired about gluten free options for breakfast; they were prepared with several selections for...

I was traveling alone and visiting many family members, therefore, this location was near many good restaurants to meet for lunch or coffee. It's a block from PONTE VECCHIO of which I so enjoy. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Centrally located family run hotel. Very easy 10 minute walk to the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio, 15 minutes at the most to the Academia and the Central Market and surrounded by shopping opportunities and restaurants. Spotless rooms with new bathrooms, ( at least the rooms we saw all had private, newly redone bathrooms). Fine Florentine style breakfast is provided with...

We agree with everything! Our hotel is wonderful provided you are fully mobile and don't have about 4 kids under the age of 5!! We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope that you might pass by Florence again one day in the future.

Florence was our 4th stop of our trip around Italy and Hotel Alessandra did not disappoint. It is close enough to the train and bus station to walk, but when we arrived in Florence it was pouring rain! That was the only time it really rained on our trip to Italy and we were trapped in the bus station. We...

Stayed for 8 nights at Alessandra and it was beginning to feel like home. Location perfect; staff wonderful (love you Monty!); breakfast was enough to get you going. They have a little wine bar and you can purchase a bottle for a reasonable price and take it back to your room or go up to the tiny terrace to enjoy,...

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our family run hotel is right in the heart of Florence old town - near to the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio. Without doubt, Hotel Alessandra is one of the most centrally located hotels in Florence. In this privileged position, Hotel Alessandra offers a home away from home, with our friendly team and extensive knowledge of the local area. The hotel entrance is situated on the second floor of the building. You can reach the reception floor using the lift, small but working fine (in the 1400s buildings hadn't been designed with this in mind!) But please note that there are around 30 steps from the entrance on the street level to the departure of the lift. We very much look forward to seeing you! Andrea and Anna ... more   less
