We quite enjoyed this quaint hotel. It's older, but very intriguing. It was quite a maze to get to our room, which we actually enjoyed as it took us through many unique locations (libraries, a bar). Our room was something out of a movie. Beautiful with very high ceilings and a wonderful view and fit all four of us comfortably....

In the heart of the high end shops although you do not feel out of place on a low budget. Only a doorway is the evidence that this hotel exists. A very friendly and helpful concierge on the ground floor, with the main hotel located on the fourth with rooms on the fourth and fifth floors. Beware the lift only...

This is an lovely little hotel with mid-range prices right on one of the most elegant shopping streets in Florence and in walking distance to the Duomo, Ufizi, and the Ponte Vechio, Our room and bathroom were surprisingly large. There are wonderful little touches like Murrano glass fixtures in the room. Make sure you have a drink on their roof...

This hotel is absolutely beautiful! We had a room for 4 - a king bed and two singles and still a lot of space to spare in the room. We had a view of the Duomo too. The staff was wonderful. Friendly and helpful. The breakfast was filling. So many choices and the staff were attentive. The hotel is located...

While the hotel stay was okay and I thought the concierge was there to help us on our trip. In the end they ignored us and hung us out to dry when an issue came up. Long story short, we got a ticket in the mail after returning from our trip; for parking the rental car in front of the...

We are so sorry to read such bad review, your stay was in October and no name, after over 5 months it is difficult for us to understand what happened. As you can see from all comments, staff is very attentive and take good care of Guests. Now all we can see is to aplogize even if we do not...

Would recommend this hotel but not our small room, which was in great need of renovation; wood floor looked terrible, as did some walls; drawers were narrow & some didn't even open. Hotel had upgraded us initially to a much nicer room but its windows looked onto badly damaged high walls, thus not only w/o any "view" but with no...

Lovely hotel with lots of character, original features etc! Every corner has something else to see! The superior room was great and the suite even better. Downside you can hear everything outside because there's no double glazing or sound proofing. Breakfast a bit disappointing as it's only continental style not what were used to from 4 star. Staff really friendly,...

This was my second stay at This wonderful old hotel and it was just as good as my first. I was greeted warmly upon arrival and had a lovely and spacious room with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom was large, plenty of hot water and lovely fragrant toiletries. For Italy, this hotel provides a good breakfast. Every...

My husband and I stayed here last weekend during a trip to Florence. We had been in Rome for a couple of weeks and just traveled to Florence for the last weekend. This location is amazing. Very quick walk from the train station. Florence is quite small and walkable and this hotel is very central to everything. The rooms are...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
