... on a smaller scale. This lovely retreat up the hill from the town centre has echoes of old fashioned Italian gentility and style. The rooms were cool while it was hot outside and the pool, though small, was perfect for cooling off. Staff all really friendly and helpful with lots of advice and cheerful service. Rooms were comfortable and...

It's like living in the early sixties. I don't think the style has changed here since it was built. It's a thoroughbred, classic italian hotel like they just dont come anymore. The most charming thing is how absolutely no efficiency gains have been introduced since they started, so you'll still find the most amazing details in place to great pleasure....

We booked into this hotel for a couple of nights as the kids wanted a place with a pool to relax in after the hectic sight seeing in Florence. What a lovely little place it was. The staff were very friendly, the gardens were a pleasant change and the pool was ideal for the kids. There is a tennis court...

This is a family owned establishement, and the staff are wonderful. You feel very well-cared for and they will go out of their way for your comfort. It is farther away from the town center, which after a few visits to Florence you will come to realize is an actual blessing. You can easily get a taxi to the town...

While this was my first visit to Italy; Villa Belvedere possessed, what I imagined Italy was like 30 years ago; charm, elegance with a warm family hospitality. The rooms are simple, very comfortable, non-pretentious-with a million dollar view of the Duomo from the private balcony. The hotel is family owned and operated, located in a stunning well established peaceful neighborhood,...

It's a nice green place and people are friendly, but I thought it was overpriced when we stayed there in June.. I don't recommend it to people without a car - the cab is expensive around 15$ to come there from the center for Florence, and close to 20$ if you call a cab from the hotel to the center...

I have just returned from Florence and stayed at Villa Belvedere for 5 nights. If you're looking for a modern, state of the art hotel with al a carte menu where you're pampered like a spoilt child then go look elsewhere. This is a classical and homely hotel, very restful and relaxing, yes a little dated but I felt it...

Nice and clean, a bit cold in the rooms. Great breakfast. A bus drive to the city [it is on a hill so not an easy walk back to the hotel]. Very nice and helpful staff. It has swimming pool and I guess tennis court but we didn't use them.

The hotel is on a hill on the edge of the city, and so is fairly quiet with nice views from the garden. The pool is small, but well maintained. The building and rooms have seen better days, but are comfortable and clean. Breakfast was average, and the staff friendly but a little remote. It is a 30 minute walk...

Nice landscape, You can see Duomo from the garden. But the hotel is far from city center (more than 30 min by walk, approximately the same time buy bus - 1,50 € - due to long waiting time and arrival to Santa Maria Novella - 15 minutes by walk to Signoria Place). Old structure. Old but big rooms. Non fridge,...
