There are 3 things that made this hotel the perfect place for our stay in Florence, ideal location in the heart of the old city, relaxing rooftop terraces affording 360 degree views from sunrise to sunset from the Arno to the Duomo, to the Uffizi and the Ponte Vecchio, and the flawless welcoming hospitality of every person on the staff. The...

We had the Panorama Suite. Our room lacked nothing. It was clean, comfortable, warm, welcoming, spacious, well appointed, and simply beautiful. The hotel has excellent wi-fi and adequate outlets for charging all the tech we carry. It is a tower. There are lots of steps even though there are elevators as well. The views of the Ponte Vecchio, the Arno...

Stayed here for 3 nights while in Florence. We can not say enough about this hotel, beautiful and special as it is a 14th century tower turned into a hotel. It's location is perfect for walking to all sights and wonderful shopping. Close to the train station as well. We were given a beautiful room with a view of the...

Hotel located in the middle of all Florence, very close to the Duomo & all designers shops. Hotel is small, quaint but cozy, clean and staffs are friendly and informative. Beds & essentials are great, just small rooms compare to the US standard size (we booked one of the suite, the bathroom was nice with inside heat, but still small)...

Myself and my wife recently stayed here for 2 nights during a trip to Amsterdam, Venice and Florence and it was such a great way to finish our trip. We stayed in room 503 which was a Grand Deluxe room and had it's own private terrace. This offered an amazing view of the city and surrounding mountains including the all...

I wish TripAdvisor allowed for more stars because I would certainly award them to this wonderful hotel. My sister and I were traveling with our grown daughters and everything about this stay was perfect! I could wax poetic but I think the most helpful review would be to outline everything that made our stay so special. 1) Fabulous location: situated...

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We personally enjoy welcoming our guests, we wish to reinvent the concept of hospitality, and we have the inspiration to provide the warmth of home in every detail. This is how the Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni 1, Florence came to be: a tower-house built in the mid-12th century by the Guelph family of Ruggerini. At the beginning of the 20th century, this palace became "Pensione Piccioli," and quickly turned into a privileged residence for aristocrats and English writers. Closed after the Great War, Pensione Piccioli reopened in 2001, as a Period Residence called "Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni 1." Thanks to attentive restoration to preserve all its original charm, the evocative ambiance of the Palace on Via Tornabuoni has regained life and warmth. This magnificent complex is considered one of the typical "tower-houses" of Mediaeval Florence, and, to this day, it still preserves all its characteristic architectural elements: it is an admirable example of the human ability to convert buildings built for war into oases of peace, culture and hospitality. In this ancient tower, we have created a world of harmony, privacy, and attentiveness to our guests' needs. Luxury, peace, and beauty are all in traditional Italian style, and give the concept of comfort new aesthetics. Almost all rooms enjoy an enchanting view of the city or the Arno River, and all are furnished with the highest in comfort: satellite plasma TVs, DVD players, wireless internet connection, direct line telephone, minibar, electronic safe, air conditioning and heating, private marble bath with tub and/or shower, hair dryer, slippers and shoehorns. Some of the Rooms and Suites are decorated with a Renaissance flair: with frescoes, drapes in coloured precious fabrics, bathrooms in red Alcantara or Gold Calacatta marble, and romantic four poster beds. ... more   less
