Nice, small clean room with a bed, a bathroom and a shower. Nothing fancy but just a good place to stay if you come to see the city and not to stay in your room. Elevator a bit claustrophobic but it worked and better (for...More
Upon booking with Hotel Sole, I received a nice welcome note; and then again the day before my travel to Florence, another note was received reminding of our stay and direction to find the hotel, with a map. It also answers my queries about the...More
When you arrive this hotel appears to be no more than a door in the wall and you have to climb three floors up and we thought it was a disaster. There is in fact a lift which you don't see until you have turned...More
This hotel is in a brilliant location
5 mins from train station , pub next door and even a launderette across the street
Close to all the popular sites literally couple of mins
Room was ok and even more important shower was good
The price and the location are unbeatable. Less that 10 min on foot with luggage to Santa Maria Novella train station and many major sites (we didn't take our luggage to the sites). Our room had A/C, was spotless and had little toiletries (soap and...More
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The
area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
