I was surprised when I got there since the hotel was sort of in an apartment building. Actually, the reception was on the 2nd floor. The room was ok but the TV was just too small. Breakfast was very simple but ok. It is 2 blocks from SMN station which was perfect since we had tour meeting points just there...

Good morning, thank you for your comments. Sure that there are better hotel in this area, it depends how much you would spend. Our hotel offer a good relationship between price and quality. It is a good 3 stars... but there are 4 stars, 5 stars. Naturally. Regards

Agree with most other reviewers, this is a nice and convenient property, but difficult to navigate. It is located through a vestibule, ringing the security buzzer and proceeding up to the second floor in an elevator barely large enough for two people plus their luggage. But once you get there, this is a clean, quiet good-sized room with good sleep...

This isn't a bad hotel. Staff is really nice and helpful, and of course the room is clean. It's really close to the Santa Maria Novella train station (roughly a 5 minute walk) however there is no outside signage to show you where it's at. Had to stop a couple of times to ask other shop owners where it was...

Nothing out of the ordinary room. The room initially did have a mild water stink which the staff tried to remove. The advantage is its less than 10 minutes walk from the rail station (SMN). Staff was very helpful and the breakfast though a modest spread was adequate.

We stayed at the Arcadia for 3 nights and found it to be very comfortable. The hotel is situated close to the Santa Maria Novella train station, but the station sounds are not heard within the hotel and are not a disturbance at all. The staff members are very friendly, offering advice on walking routes and places of interest. The...

Biggest advantage is being close to train station, but otherwise it is an average place. Nothing great about the rooms. Select this if you don't get other options. Front desk staff was quite helpful. Breakfast buffet was included in the price and spread was average

Hotel is about a 5/10 min walk from the station, just look for a few flags on the side of a building and a plaque with the name on and press the bell, go through the gate, turn right and up the stairs or lift to the second floor. We had no problems finding it. Room was nice, not amazing...

We chose this Hotel as it was walking distance from the Firenze SMN train station, it is a little challenging to find - just keep an eye out for the Hotel sign on the third floor and half a dozen international flags. Walk down the driveway and in to the lobby with Hotel Reception on the second floor. Room was...

Very nice hotel with big rooms, nice private bathroom, greeting staff, location is good near Santa Maria Novella station. Not very difficult to locate as it is very near to station in the main road only. Couple of Indian restaurants at walking distance. Not very expensive hotel. In short is it was much better than our expectation and I can...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
