What can I say? My girlfriends and I toured all over Europe this summer, stayed at a number of three and four star hotels, but the best hotel for me is undoubtedly Globus. First of all, the location is fantastic. The Duomo is a 5-minute walk away, and so is the train station where tourists can catch the bus-tours (w/c...

Just back from our stay at Hotel Globus. The hotel had a lot to live up to because we had read some good reviews on this site, but I am happy to confirm that it's all true! The hotel is well placed for the sights; the rooms are small-ish but very clean and just what you need for a city...

I stayed with my three girlfriends in the Globus Hotel in Room 101 this past summer. We had been staying in four star hotels throughout our European vacation, so we thought we would be roughing it by going to a 3 star hotel. But the only rough part about this hotel was leaving it. ;-) Ha ha! No seriously, I...

Stayed at the Hotel Globus for three nights in September 2005. Good location, within walking distance to the train station and major sights. Also very close to the Mercato Centrale where I did most of my gift/souvenir shopping. Clean, comfortable room. I asked for a single and was pleasantly surprised to see that the room had a full sized bed...

The staff, breakfast, location and free internet acces are great. We were a little disappointed though with how noisy the maids were at 8AM. The rooms were clean but the beds were less than desirable and felt like the hotel needs to invest in some new linens. Other than that, the Hotel Globus is a pretty good value.

We stayed at Hotel Globus in September of 2005. The room was small but stylish and spotless with a great view of one of the Duomo's. The staff were all fantastic and could not do enough to make sure our stay was great. The breakfast was very good . It was also very easy to find and very close to...

When we first checked in to this hotel, we though "this is kind of small and not as modern as the promotional materials show." However, after walking around Florence for a day and seeing other hotels, we realized that it wasn't so bad afterall. It is very close to the train staion, so it is great if you are doing...

What a fantastic place Florence is.....when contemplating a trip here with so many hotels it is difficult to know where to stay. I used trip advisor to rate the available hotels and we ended up at the globus hotel. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station....we took a taxi not realising how close it was! The...

We have just returned from four days at this hotel, it was everything i could have wanted. Convenient for all the sights 5mins from Duomo, 10mins from Accademia, 20 mins from Uffizi. Staff were so helpful especially Alessandro, who gave us directions, restaurants details and sight seeing tips as we had not been to Florence before. Breakfast was great with...

We have just returned from a short stay at the Hotel Globus which we booked based on the reviews from this website. I booked the hotel over the phone as there was a problem with the website. Although I anticipated communication problems as I can't speak Italian, the man I spoke to was really nice and language was not a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Globus was completely renovated in June 2016. The new reception area, located on the street level of Via Sant'Antonino, is now connected to all rooms thanks to our new elevator. The new breakfast area overlooks a small courtyard with a nice vertical garden. Our staff is a mixture of all ages, languages, cultures and countries, always smiling and willing to offer you tips on places to visit, restaurants to try. They're always there for you. For what regards our location, it is definitely one of the key features of Globus. The proximity to all the Santa Maria Novella train station and all main attractions, including the Duomo, both major museums (Uffizi and Accademia Galleries) or Ponte Vecchio, among others, makes it very easy to plan even the busiest day without the need to lose time getting from the hotel to your desired location. What makes our neighbourhood special though is definitely the Mercato Centrale, located just around the corner from here. In the morning, that is where you want to go if you're planning to buy some food to take back home, or simply want to try the famous Tuscan specialties, "trippa" and "lampredotto". Where this place shines though is the 1st floor, open from 10am until midnight. It's a big, modern open space with many restaurants, serving a variety of really delicious food. Make sure to check it out! ... more   less
