The pictures in the website are a SCAM!!! This place seriously needs some renovation. There are mould marks on all walls and it really needs some paint. The bathroom is as big as a phone box with no windows. The price is outrageously high for the quality offered. We spent 99 € and the overall service is way lower compared...

We choose this hotel because of the secure parking. The hotel staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is mainly cake and coffee - but enough to start the day with. The walk from the hotel into the centre of Florence is simple and takes about 15 minutes. This hotel is definitely value for...

The Hotel Il Granduca was the perfect hotel for a sweet stay in Florence. The room itself was everything you want and expect from a small hotel with lots of character; the furniture cream and floral, the linen delicately patterned and the hotel owner quite a character - both charming and accommodating. There is no need to worry if, like...

Booked this hotel 20 minutes before we arrived. The manager could not have been more helpful and friendly and was the main reason we enjoyed the stay so much. The rooms were incredible with old fashioned furnishings and a modern shower. We had no problems at all. The air con was extremely effective and the breakfast was extremely varied day...

Stayed here for 3 nights and were looked after by the manager (tall guy, glasses, softly spoken...Sorry I don't remember your name) so well. Were upgraded to a superior room, because it was available, at no extra cost... Great gesture. Room was a good size and had all you need for the stay including fridge and safe. Bathroom was nice,...

We were in Room one, yes there was a mosquito but the manager gave us something for the room. He was very helpful and friendly as was the receptionist. The room was cleaned every day. Good value and great location. Not much choice at breakfast but good enough and we were late but was still allowed to have something one...

Decline room 1. It has bathroom under the stairs. I've never seen anything like it. No soap. Ask at reception. The floor is always wet. The room mosquitoes. Poor breakfast without fruit. The location is good. The hotel is not 3 stars.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
