If you are looking for a truly incomparable experience and cost is not the issue the Pal. Niccollini MUST be your choice. Ask for one of the suites facing the Doumo. It is in fact a palace that is currently inhabited by the descendants of its renaissance owners and you are made to feel like an invited guest. This is...

My wife and I have been to Italy 4 times and last March planned a trip to Florence. We wanted a hotel that was historical, full of character but with all the amenities of a more corporate hotel. The Palazzo Niccolini is family run, friendly, efficiently managed and we immediately felt at home upon our arrival. The pictures on the...

Overall very satisfied with our room, included breakfast and the friendliness of the staff. The hotel is located very close to the Duomo cathedral (1 minute walk) and in the middle of Florence. The front desk staff was extremely friendly, spoke English and helped with questions about Florence locations, tours, schedule of taxi, train and recommendations for local restaurants. One...

We spent two very nice nights at Palazzo Niccolini in mid-October. A very convenient location a few steps from the Duomo (and everything else Florence has to offer) in a nice older building that is very well maintained and cared for. Excellent service, a clean and tasteful room, and a good breakfast.

This was our second stay at Palazzo Niccolini. We had spent a week there in 2008. This is an elegant and very modern property in an old building with frescoed walls in several rooms. The rooms are large and well appointed with very modern bathrooms and elegant furnishings. There is a beautiful drawing room where breakfast is served (good variety...

What a treat to stay in this beautiful hotel. We were obviously upgraded from a standard double room to an apartment which was complete with an entire sitting room, dining table, and its own Nespresso machine. Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
