We stayed at the Adler Cavaliers as part of a tour group and would definitely come back to it on our own travel plans. The rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious continental plus eggs and bacon. Staff was friendly and attentive. The hotel is around the corner from the Santa Maria Novella Train station, convenient for...

I was very pleased with this hotel. It is close to the train station, which was a key factor for me, yet has none of the traffic or noise that you might associate with that location. (Florence is small enough that I didn't feel far from any site.) My single room was spacious, with great A/C and a nice view...

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Adler Cavalieri for 4 nights as part of our first trip to Italy. We took the train from Venice to Florence, and were very happy that we booked a hotel so close to the train station. We rolled our luggage over to the hotel, and were instantly greeted by the staff. Our...

We stayed here for 3 nights in total and loved the hotel. Gorgeous wooden interior throughout and staff very helpful. Breakfast in the courtyard was fantastic (only very minor complaint was bacon was incredibly fatty!) but we would thoroughly recommend this little gem. Fab central location too. Would also recommend a peep into the beautiful stationary shop opposite hotel entrance.

Close to the train station for all those early morning tours and connections. Helpful staff, they are genuine caring people. It felt like we were staying with relatives, it has a small bed and breakfast feel. Will return.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It is in a convenient location (metres from the train station) and the hotel itself is stunning. One slight issue we had, our toilet was constantly running which was a slight nuisance. I informed reception but nothing was done about it. Besides that minor issue the room was comfortable, really spacious, clean...

We stayed in room 214. A lovely quiet room with a balcony away from hallways. Breakfast was excellent and the cold iced tea in the sitting room was lovely after a hot afternoon of walking. Hotel is within walking distance of most attractions like the duomo, markets, uffizi gallery, churches etc. Very close to train station. Staff all very friendly...

The location is very good. Not in the heart of old city but can reach there very soon by walk. Reception is warm and friendly. Breakfast is very good for a 4-star hotel. Our room was small but acceptable. The only negative point i mentioned that the shower box is very small and all the time water spread over the...

Stayed here about 6 weeks ago as part of a Trafalgar tour. Staff were excellent and helpful at the hotel and it was within easy walking distance of many of the attractions in Florence. Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
