This hotel stands on the edge of Piazza Carmine in Florence.
It was a Nunnery and there are still some Franciscan sisters there.
The hotel is very clean, the beds are comfortable and the staff all speak very good English.

I loved this hotel. It was cool, calm, tranquil and felt secure. It is a very special old building with high ceilings and spacious rooms - a great antidote to the crowded narrow streets of Florence. There is a working chapel within the hotel, and...More
We had an amazing stay at the 15th Century Palace. This was my third stay and I keep coming back.
Our room had a private bathroom and fresco ceiling. We had a magnificent view of the tranquil garden with Wisteria all in bloom.
Casa Santo Nome di Gesu is in a perfect location, in the heart of Florence, where all bistros and bars are. Nice environement. Very friendly staff and most comfortable matellas ever!!

All you get is just a room with beds, but nothing else, no wifi in the room, the breakfast was terrible, the bath towels was very thin and useless. The room is also very dark. Not good for a family with children. The location is...More

A warm evening with a cocktail in your hand and great company is the ideal way to experience Piazza Santo Spirito; the area is busiest at sunset for happy hour. Visitors cannot hide their astonishment sitting on the staircase under the Basilica of Santo Spirito, and they cannot help but stare at the architectural masterpieces like Bianca Cappello House, Fontana dello Sprone and San Frediano in Cestello and Santa Maria
delle Carmine churches. Tourists and Florentines alike join up in the area between Santo Spirito and San Frediano, connecting the Tuscan soul to the international spirit permeating the city.

We did find out that the desk had hair dryers that they would "loan" out to guests that had apparently been left by former guests. While "no frills", this was a very comfortable stay. Loved the atmosphere! Quiet, too, while being within easy walking distance of the best Florence has to offer. Take the desk clerk's advice on where to go to dinner in the area. Fabulous!! Friendly, excellent food, and wonderful service. Couldn't have been happier!
