We had a lovely stay at this place which is rich in history and yet simple in its presentation and situated within walking distance to Florence's tourist hub. Breakfast was adequate, staff were polite and helpful, and we loved the secret garden accessible through large...More
The staff here are wonderfully friendly and helpful, the rooms are larger than most, and the beds softer than average, and everything was impeccably clean. The location puts it just out of the way of the highest tourist traffic, which means you get to interact...More
I realized from reading the reviews that this had been a convent, and the standard would be simple and plain. This proved to be correct. What I was not expecting was the lovely environment - both in and out. This is originally an old palace...More
The hotel is in an awsome location close to the important landmarks !!!! They offer privat parking possibility for a small fee, given the location a big advantage!
The staff was super helpfull and verry friendly.
This delightful Franciscan convent is situated in the most convenient location in Florence. It is away from the tourist crowds on the other side of the river Arno but that's exactly where you want to be. Set in a busy Piazza flanked by churches, the...More
A warm evening with a cocktail in your hand and great company is the ideal way to experience Piazza Santo Spirito; the area is busiest at sunset for happy hour. Visitors cannot hide their astonishment sitting on the staircase under the Basilica of Santo Spirito, and they cannot help but stare at the architectural masterpieces like Bianca Cappello House, Fontana dello Sprone and San Frediano in Cestello and Santa Maria
delle Carmine churches. Tourists and Florentines alike join up in the area between Santo Spirito and San Frediano, connecting the Tuscan soul to the international spirit permeating the city.

We did find out that the desk had hair dryers that they would "loan" out to guests that had apparently been left by former guests. While "no frills", this was a very comfortable stay. Loved the atmosphere! Quiet, too, while being within easy walking distance of the best Florence has to offer. Take the desk clerk's advice on where to go to dinner in the area. Fabulous!! Friendly, excellent food, and wonderful service. Couldn't have been happier!
