Hotel il Bargellino is a nice little place owned by an American. (It's nice to have someone that speaks English!) It is very close to the train station (Piazza Adua to Via Faenza to Via Guelfa). The room was clean and large, and had a shower and sink in the room. It was one of the larger showers we saw...

Hotel Il Bargellino was cozy with a touch of class. It's a small hotel and offered the opportunity to meet others who are staying there. The terrace made for wonderful conversation with other travelers, an inexpensive dinner spot and a place to relax. The rooms have character, the beds are large and the service is great. Carmel is from Boston...

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel ll Bargellino. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was just off the lovely rooftop terrace. We enjoyed our breakfast there each morning. It is difficult to find a green space in Florence, so we really appreciated the beautiful terrace. We also appreciated the assistance with tickets to the major sites...

We stayed here for 4 nights in the middle of a busy trip. Florence is beautiful and overpowering, noisy and fantastic and it was such a treat to stay in a well located, comfortable place. The rooms are of average size with old-world touches that make you feel like you are really in a different land. Each evening (and most...

This was a fabulous place to stay while in Florence. The owners and staff are warm and welcoming, very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious -- beautiful high ceilings and a very nice bathroom. This is a small intimate hotel (10 rooms) with exquisite decor and it is in a great location -- convenient for walking everywhere...

Hotel Il Bargellino is the real thing! The excellent location in the historical center, the extremely clean and delightfully decorated rooms, and the exceptional terrace make this a real gem in a city that is frequently overwhelming. Carmel and Pino are very accomodating and knowledgeable and helped me with all my museam reservations and questions i had about Florence in...

We absolutely loved staying at the Hotel Il Bargellino. Days spent sight seeing and then back to the hotel to relax on the terrace with Carmel, Pino and several other guests staying there. The hotel is just what you need, we had a comforable bed, a bathroom, a refrigerator in our room and close to everything. Thank you for a...

This was my third stay with Carmel and Pinot at Hotel Il Bargellino. The hotel is in a perfect location: close to the train station and close to the Duomo. The proprietors Carmel and Pinot are helpful, accomodating, and very personable. although breakfast is not served, Carmel offers a "cofee set-up" for the morning if you tell her. She is...

We have stayed at Hotel Il Bargellino four times. We have enjoyed the hospitality of Carmel & Pino. It is located close to muesums, train station, the marketplace and great restaurants. The terrace on the second floor is fantastic. We would sit out after a long day of shopping and sightseeing drinking local wine and enjoying the atmosphere. We are...

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections.
