My wife and I booked this hotel for 2 weeks because of the very positive reviews and we were not disappointed. This hotel is excellently placed a few minutes walk from the main train station and 12-15 mins. from the historical centre. Continental breakfast was more than adequate with a choice of cereals, cake, eggs, ham, cheese, toast etc. Giuliana,...

Excellent location, few minutes from main train station and 10-15 min walk from all city attractions. Excellent b n b, excellent staff- provided us with everything we could possibly want and extra, excellent decor-very beautiful to match Florence. We had garden room, very tranquil and mesmerising with lemon trees. Hotel itself was equal to five star, very clean, very spacious,...

Travelled to Florence with my missus and decided to stay here. You will feel like you are staying with family. The room was spacious. The toilet was better than a 5 star hotel. I insisted on a room with garden (room no. 14) but unfortunately, it kept raining throughout. The free breakfast has reasonable variety, which includes crossiants, bread, cereals,...

I really liked this place. It's not that far from the city centre .The people at the reception were so friendly and warm hearted. It's very close to Firenze S.M. Novello train station. It was easy to find. Wi-Fi connection was not so strong in my room. The breakfast wasn't the way i like it.

Charming B&B fairly near the station and a good walking distance from the centre of florence - lovely hostess very helpful - good English spoken - good value for money - if you are not looking for anything too luxurious but comfortable and homely this is a good choice

The day of arrival they call us saying that they would move us to another b&b due to unavailabilty of one of the two rooms reserved, promising they would manage to make the other B&B make us pay same price. But then they call the owner of the second B&B saying that they would not guarantee the price anymore. Orrible...

We stayed here in May 2014 in a large room facing main road. Guilia is very active in responding to your requests etc before you visit. The rooms are fairly large and comfortable. Guilia is very accomodative, gave loads of tips/information, made reservations for us etc. Location wise it is fairly convenient, just half a km from S M Novella....

We have been here for over a week and plan to stay longer. Everything has been exceptional including the room, the location and the service. The management and staff have been very pleasant and helpful, accommodating our every need. We had friends visiting from outside of town and they made a lovely coffee and breakfast service for us all. Everyone...

Beware of this hotel! We tried to book, but got no confirmations, so we booked an alternate. The day of our arrival in Florence, we received a questionable email from a person asking "Are you coming?" We responded, "Coming where?" But received no reply. The next day we were sent a notice that we were a "no show" and would...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
