When we arrived at the B&B we were shown around by Gabriella and taken to our room. We were in a smaller room to start with and were told we would be moved to a better room after two nights. Initially I wasn't that happy about being moved, but Gabriella said she would move everything for us and we didn't...

Wow - I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful B&B. It was the highlight of our trip to Italy. And we loved Italy! Now, I'm going to try to be the voice of "reason" here and give sound reasons as to why my husband and I found this place is so fantastic... First and foremost is Gabriella, our...

This B&B is the ideal location for staying in Florence because it is central to all shopping and museums and it is also quiet and relaxing. The host/owner Gabriella is warm and welcoming and makes everybody's stay the best possible. She knows her restaurants and is happy to help with dinner reservations. She knows just where everything is and can...

Stayed at Il Bargello for 4 nights during our honeymoon in Florence. We had an amazing time in Florence and Gabriella's Bargello B&B was the perfect choice. Don't be deterred from the initial fear of walking up the steps to the 3rd floor - it's good exercise and worth the effort!! Gabriella is such a great host - she will...

I must admit that I was slightly worried about staying at a B&B on our recent trip to Florence, but am pleased to say that we couldn't have chosen a better accommodation! I had read some of the complaints listed on TripAdvisor from those who didn’t want to be in such close quarters with other unknown guests, but I found...

Il Bargello B&B was a wonderful place to stay for our 2 days in Florence. Yes, there are many flights of stairs to get to up there, but it is well worth it. Gabriella was incredibly helpful (a fellow Canadian to boot!) - she speaks perfects English. She was on the phone making dinner reservations for us at a moments...

We absolutely adored staying at the beautiful Il Bargello! Gabriella's hospitality made us feel right at home---a big comfort when traveling. The photos do not do the Il Bargello justice; it is more elegant than it appears. Its antique "bones" are preserved but upgraded with modern conveniences such as big bathrooms and very comfortable beds. Breakfasts were ample: yogurt, fresh...

The reviews don't lie - this was a great place, right in the middle of everything. all of the major sights - the duomo, uffizi, etc - are 5 min walk away. The B&B is very nice, clean and charming. The best part is Gabriella, the owner of the B&B, who is incredibly friendly and helpful. The only downfall is...

We stayed at Il Bargello for two nights...what a wonderful place to stay...we all loved it! Gabriela and Massimo, the owners, are absolutely lovely people who will make you feel more than welcome. They have decorated the B&B very nicely and there is air conditioning in the rooms. Don't miss the enchanting rooftop terrace, with partial views of the Duomo,...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
