Near the main train station and some great monuments of the city, the staff was really friendly. The wifi connection was only in one room on the floor where the reception was and we weren't really satisfied about that.

Stayed one night, check in and out was easy. Very central location and the room was very big with nice towels & linen. Management were very helpful and the breakfast was plentiful with good coffee. Not ideal for those who struggle with stairs as there is no accessibility access.

The best thing about Hotel Bavaria is the location. You're in between the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio, and only a 5-10 minute walk from each. The service was also great- the staff was constantly helpful and available 24/7, the breakfast was solid, and the rooms were large and unique. One downside was that it was hard to find- only...

Perfect central location, close to a really good Irish Student bar (not close as in, you can hear it close, but close enough to stumble home from!) The manager was great, even though we turned up late up night was welcoming. We were so tired and wet from trekking there in the rain and getting lost - the place has...

The hotel was wonderful, in a fabulous location, and I loved waking every morning to the sound of bells from the Duomo. The room was kept spotlessly clean and was really surprisingly large and it was lovely to stay in a building with so much history and character (a 16th century palazzo). There was plenty to choose from for breakfast...

16th century building, well located close to Duomo and town centre. Reception is on 2nd floor and no lift, so need a bit of muscle to get our gear up. We are travelling for 6 weeks. So we had a large and small case each. The room was spacious with a sink in the corner and a shared bathroom. During...

The hotel was great, the breakfast was terrific, the location was just around the corner from the Duomo. The room has a kettle (need to provide own tea/coffee if you want to use this). Really central location to all the sites of Florence.

The Hotel Bavaria Firenze is a very comfortable place to stay in the centre of Firenze. The staff are helpful, the room that we had was huge and clean. Breakfast is simple but that's all we needed and is what was expected. There are a lot of stairs, so beware of that if mobility is an issue. Wi-Fi worked fine...

It feels like a prison because there is no cellphone reception AND no wifi while in the lounge and your room. The breakfast is mediocre at best. Had go out and eat a proper breakfast right after. Beds were all singles and there is one shared bathroom between about 7 rooms of people. Loud noises coming from around the hotel...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
