Me and 5 friends stayed at this hotel 2 nights (2014.11.07-09). The place was really good. The receptionist lady was very kind. It's city center, so you can visit most of the places by walking from the hotel. There were only two small issues: 1. they didn't had towels in the room, but they gave us after we asked, 2....

I really liked the location of this property however the room was very small so if you are looking for the Holiday Inn or the Hilton this is not close, but for the price and the location and what little time you actually spend in the room I do recomend it. There was a great restaurant across the street that...

The room was terribly small , smelly and noisy. The bathroom facilities was a really bad joke.. The bathroom door wasn't a door , it could be better described as a wooden curtain and every time you had to flush, drops of water were also hitting your face. Thanks god we had to spend only one night there.. If your...

The room was very basic and small although it is in a good location, we were meant to have a double but for some reason it wasn't available so we had to stay in a very small double.. It is ideal for short stays in the city. The room was very clean and there was a good wifi connection. I...

Ended up staying in Rocco across the street. Some of the plugs didn't work and in the dorm of 4 there was only 1 lamp so had to wake up in the dark to avoid waking the others. Two bathrooms for two dorms with poor showers but kitchen area was decently stocked. Overall quite expensive for what it was at...

Spent 3 nights here with a friend back in March 2014. Our stay was great for the most part but there were just a few things that brought its rating down for me. 1. The keyhole on the room door was huge! Anyone in the hallway could look through the keyhole and see our entire room. No biggie, I guess....

You cannot check into this place expecting the Four Seasons. It's a hostel! The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the people who I met were great. The location is fantastic and the receptionist was super nice. Also, the rooms themselves were pretty neat-- very high ceilings and pretty engravings/old frescoes on the ceilings. My only qualms would...

Not a place I'd stay for a 2nd time. Room was dark unless you opened the windows and then the noise would be deafening from the street below. Loose wiring in the room. No English TV channel at all. Bathroom was incredibly small. For breakfast (included in tariff) was a short walk to the "sister" hotel and consisted of 1...

The main aspect about my stay that stuck out to me was the customer service. The receptionist did everything he could to make sure we enjoyed our weekend. The location is perfect and is in a nice area. There is also a lobby with a coffee machine. If I come back to Florence, there is not a doubt in my...

Excellent customer service and location right next to large plaza and good restaurants and bars.. Good stay. Definitely worth the price with so many great amenities around it. Conveniently located coffee machine located right outside the room which was nice when waking up early. All in all when coming back to florence I will definitely look to stay at hotel...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
