Beautiful residence, immaculately maintained and minutes from the Duomo. Staff were fantastic and very helpful. Room was huge and fully equipped with everything you could imagine. Best place we stayed in Italy!

The hotel apartments are situated a stones throw from centre but far enough away to not be noisy. We had a one bed apartment and it was perfect. Clean, spacious, pretty. Had amenities (coffee machine) even yoga matt! Staff were very friendly and helpful, they have a huge menu on offer from food delivered by local cafe to babysitting services....

My daughter and I just recently stayed at Residence Hilda for 3 nights. It was the perfect location. A sweet gem for the two of us with amazing access to nearly every important tourist site. It was very clean. Staff was helpful and courteous. They didn't miss a single detail when it comes to design of this place. Very comfortable....

The location of this place is amazing and the facilities meant it was a home from home. Big, clean, modern and very comfortable. Offered everything we needed for a long weekend stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We got a taxt from the main train station but you could walk it.

My wife and I booked two rooms, one for ourselves and one for my sister and brother in law, our room was the smaller of the two but was still massive! The other room was at the front of the building so had more of a view and was obviously bigger. Both were very clean, comfortable and also very quiet...

I enjoyed a brief stay at Residence Hilda. I arrived during a time when reception is normally closed. Once I notified them in advance of my arrival time, they indicated it was no problem to be there when I arrived. My room was huge. Entrance, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom all white, bright, super clean and comfortable. Although I had no...

We were very surprised when we entered the room. Even though we opted for the smallest room, it was huge! Came with a large living room area with stove and kettle available. Ironing board and iron are provided too. It wasn't even a room in our opinion, a one bedroom apartment would describe the place better. The apartment was air...

Great location, 5 min walk to the duomo. Large, very clean apartments with hotel services. Very helpful front desk. Only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because there is an additional charge to have clean towels changed daily as opposed to on alternative days (it should be done daily for the price).

The room is clean and spacious with a small kitchen (fully equipped). The service is very good. It is about a 5-min walk to Duomo but still very quiet at night. The only downside is the breakfast at the local cafe where the service is terrible and the food is just ok. You can purchase the breakfast coupon at the...

Lovely hotel. Rooms/apartments are excellent. Large, clean, bright. Everything you need for a weekend getaway. Location is amazing. Very close to the Duomo and David. Receptionists are incredibly helpful. Highly recommended.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
