We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is terrific, the accommodations spacious and comfortable. The staff at the front desk (Thanks Masimiliano!) were so helpful in making sure our first stay in Firenze was memorable and welcoming. The only slight negative was the maintentance staff was never able to get our televsion set to work, but hey...

Firstly parking in Florence is super expensive. Parking at the hotel garage cost 35 euros, which is ridiculous. You would think that being customer's at the hotel, that you would get a discount at least. The staff were friendly and helped us with our luggage. The hotel is located in prime location and the centre of Florence. Our room looked...

We were not happy at this hotel. The building itself is nice, but the service is terrible. The staff seems to go out of there way to be rude. The spa area was not kept clean, water all over the place, showers dirty. When I complained, I was told that that this was not a concern. Also, the rooms are...

My family stayed at this hotel in May and found it to be a good choice overall. The staff were very helpful. One downside was the absence of heat in the room; it had been turned off for the year. Given we had two solid days of rain and unseasonably chilly nights, the absence of heat was a definite issue....

My wife and I spent two nights here while sightseeing in Florence and could not have been happier. The staff was helpful, the room was lovely and breakfast was top-notch. The hotel is a just a few minutes' walk from the Duomo, the Ufizzi and other attractions, but is on a quiet street.

We arrived at the Borghese not quite knowing what to expect - but we were not at all disappointed. The hotel is small, friendly and the attention to detail is fabulous. We had a basic room which was clean and stylish. The entrance, with the unique and original pieces of art throughout was welcoming and a real pleasure on the...

We stayed at the Borghese for five nights, having read the reviews here our expectations were high. Thankfully, we weren't disappointed; it was exactly what we had expected. Location is fantastic: 30 seconds (at most) from the Museo Del Bargello, the Uffizi of the scuplture world 3 minutes from the Basilica di Santa Croce 5 minutes from the Basilica di...

My husband and I loved this hotel. The staff was friendly, excellent inclusive buffet, large enough rooms and lovely Tuscan terra cotta roof views. Decor is a *little* dated, but all in all nice, modern and clean.

Loved this hotel! Everything was great . However, why would a hotel not have tissues? When we requested tissues for our room we were told they did not have any so they delivered to our room 50 red cocktail napkins! Certainly recommend the hotel , but remember to bring tissues!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and really enjoyed its central location, all of the key sights were within easy walking distance. On arrival, the hotel has real wow factor, the large, modern reception area is filled with statues and paintings, like an art gallery. Our bedroom was a good size, contemporary and well equipped. Ladies - there...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
