Excellent location, great host, all you need and very clean and comfortable! Have a break and a coffee during your sightseeing in the lounge with great Italian coffee. Feels very homely. Alexander was a great host.

If you love history you'll love the proximity to major sites, lovely markets, and bustling Via Roma. Alessandro (Owner/Innkeeper) is lovely and so are both his two hotels (B&B's?). He's a Florentine native and began the business a decade ago. His attention to detail shows in every way: The rooms are thoughtfully and beautifully decorated, they're impeccably clean, his breakfast...

Great Location and very clean rooms. loved the idea of the power in your room turning off when you took the key out. Great way to be eco-friendly. it was close to many attractions like the Duomo and the room was a fair size for Europe.

We discovered Il Salotto about 8 years ago. Can't remember the trader but it could have been Venere. Since then we have stayed there twice. The room we were initially given was wonderful. It had a balcony looking over the street 100 metres from the Duomo. I remember standing on that balcony (maybe too small for a large sofa) and...

The owner of this hotel was really friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed our stay here.and like the fact that there was a kitchen/dining area attached so food was available at all times. We found the beds in Italy tended to be on the hard side so it was a relief when we arrived...

The selection of this B&B was based on the location. It is incredible well located. I could not imagine any better in Firenze. But for my surprise it was more than a well located bed. Alessandro, one of the owners, is very kind and worried with guests satisfaction. He is always ready to provide any kind of assitance that you...

Fantastic place to stay in Florence. The convenient location just a few steps away from the magnificent duomo, the rooms were spacious, quiet and pristine clean. The young boys who work there in the mornings were really nice and helpful. Breakfast was fine. Definitely we will come back

The ranking on this web site is off. This hotel and it's owner Allessandro are TOP of class. They are accommodating, knowledgeable, connected and friendly. We have stayed there 3 times over the years (including our honeymoon) and the team has been incredible. You can't beat the location, the morning breakfast and the hospitality. I wish these guys had properties...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
